The first session of Empire's Twilight begins tonight.
The last of the characters was made on Sunday. There's a tech, a hired gun, a bounty hunter, a pilot and a sadistic medical droid.

It's hard to kill people in EotE. It takes multiple critical injuries.

Count down to Tim voicing this character with a lisp. I hope he's the droid, I have never wanted a droid PC with a lisp more than right now.

The Sadistic Medical Droid is already my favorite character. I can’t wait to hear the first AP, I need more Star Wars in my life! * Also… "Sadistic Medical Droid" is the name of my new Megadeth cover band!

Rules query: Destiny points. You can spend one to increase the difficulty of an enemies task by 1 step. Stu Venable said that would upgrade a purple die to a red die. I was under the impression that increasing the difficulty step would add a purple die (going from medium to hard)? Also: Dave is correct. The Vinturi wine aerator's are nice. We did an experiment with 2-buck Chuck, before and after, and there was a definite improvement. It also does well with good wines. Especially with as much wine as you guys drink during gaming, it'd be worth it.

I don't have the book in front of me (it's packed for the convention!), but I *think* the rules said it "upgrades" difficulty, which in this system isn't the same as increase.
Don't quote me on this. I'll be looking at the book tonight to brush up on some stuff for tomorrow's con game.

I double checked. It upgrades difficulty, not increases.

It's hard to kill people in EotE. It takes multiple critical injuries. Or Believable narration. Sure mechanically, it's hard to die. But an example from my own game, was where one character was on a collapsing catwalk, as a bomb was being set off below him, in a steel forge factory. He failed every roll to leap to a stable platform, and everyone failed to catch him, and he took enough wounds from a grenade to knock him unconscious as he was slowly falling. The player asked if he was dead, and the GM asks, does that make sense to you? His answer: Yeah, seems pretty hard to escape. The GM was given permission to bring him back in some nefarious way, but he never did.
