I've been toying around with a Con Game idea for ChupacabraCon coming up in May and thought I might try to get some crowd feedback. The idea I had would be for players to play literal Murder Hobos, or Harrowed hobos in the times of Deadlands Noir. But I'm getting hung up on two things: What could these hobos do that would be so bad it turned them Harrowed (Pg-13 versions for con presentation), and why would they be "adventuring" in Depression era New Orleans? The general idea is that "Hobo with a black heart of gold" like "Hobo with a Shotgun".
So I what ideas come to mind for you all, why are these Hobos Harrowed and what could threaten/grab the interest of undead hobos to cause them to act?
Thanks

Living in Austin and you have no idea how conflicted I am right now. Part of me is laughing while the other half is just silently nodding that the bums are fighting Gentrification. @tim That is pretty awesome. I imagine the Loiterer has a super power like The Blob and can't be moved. Edit: The more I roll it around the more I like Super Hero Murder Hobos. I can make character sheets with cardboard and a sharpee.

Edit: The more I roll it around the more I like Super Hero Murder Hobos. I can make character sheets with cardboard and a sharpee. You can go to a second hand store/look in your basement and buy/find some fitting clothes you can give to the players like a ugly overcoat, a frayed straw hat and some scarves. You can also get handouts that are used as super powers. A bottle in a paper bag etc.
