I have only two things to say right now:
Bagpipes are awesome, but not for confined gaming spaces.
Skyrim sucked, it was an open world game where you could make no real impact on the world.

I have more to say: Skyrim had its pleasures, but ultimately, yes it sucks Star Trek: The Next Generation is awesome (though by God, there were many dreadful episodes in its last three series - screenwriters, workout your relationship with your fathers elsewhere) Star Trek: Enterprise is not as bad as many say (Stu is right), Voyager though is a bucket of shite Good to hear a shout out for Gunshoe from one correspondent

So Stu hates TNG, Dune, and Starship Troopers.
So i should never take a recommendation from him.

Having an artist around the table is always a treat. I've found that ones outside of the game are the best, whether a listener of the forums or in my case, a friend of the game irl.

David Lynch's Dune is a steaming pile of crap. Part of the problem is that Kyle MacLachlan can't act. Neither can Sting. Echo-y internal dialog is horribly corny. They took a science fiction epic and turned it into a feature length equivalent of the Batman television series.
As I said when I saw it in the theater with about a dozen friends, it was a mistake to try to fit that book into a single film.
The SciFi Original series is great, however.
Starship Troopers is my favorite book. Probably the only book I've read multiple times. Instead of making Starship Troopers, Paul Verhoeven chose to satirize it. If you're okay with that, there's really nothing else about it to discus.
My problem with TNG is that it has one-dimensional, idealized, boring characters. Everyone of them is a Mary Sue. This is illustrated by the fact that they had to ADD an imperfect character (Barclay). I suppose you could look at TNG as the first mass market posthuman science fiction, as they have none of the interesting human frailties.
I only wish that, if they decide to do another TNG film, they give Paul Verhoeven the nod to write and direct it.
It kills me how many science fiction fans settle for crap.

Everyone of them is a Mary Sue. What? Worf? The "mighty" Klingon warrior that loses every fight? A Mary Sue? Surely you jest

What can I say, I'm a sci-fi nerd and I like all of those things. They are what they are whether they're good or not.

Maybe if we demanded more quality and didn't settle for crap, we might get more Fireflys and Expanses, and less of the other stuff.
Plus, I'm almost done with Leviathan Wakes, so my tolerance for shitty science fiction is very low.

This is the Captain America that was mentioned in the podcast. Rob Liefeld is horrible and should have nothing to say about the creation of Deadpool.

Upvote for finding the image, but Deadpool is Liefeld's character - you can tell by the pouches - so whatever he says about Deadpool is Word of God on the topic. There's more than one reason why we call it the Dark Age of comics.

Show thoughts as I listened… Love/Hate SciFiHey, I like the Lynch Dune! I liked the SciFi (before they were SyFy) version too, though the follow ups were meh. I never could get into the book… just too much...everything… The Star Treks are what they are… I like them, though they’re not GREAT, but they are good. Sometimes good is OK. Also they are very much a product of their time. Season 1 of Enterprise hurt… but the last one was terrific, it was a shame…. I’ve not read Starship Troopers but I’ve heard good things about it. It is on my very long list of SciFi to read. I enjoyed the movie for what it was, but since I had no basis for comparison. Roll’n in BritanniaI loved the “don’t fuck with rich people” story. Kill me? I will put a bounty on your head so high you can’t play your character anymore! Karma is a bitch. ArtistsI’ve had two real good artists, not doodlers (no offense doodlers, I can even draw a doodle….) and when they were inspired they produced some truly great stuff. The Cartman AffairIt was nice get the female perspective on Cartman and that ordeal. I wish she had the opportunity to read the email and comment in full. Thanks for you thoughts! “We just want to have cool people to play games with, stop fucking this up people” Truer words have never been spoken! (I think it was CaDave) That might make a nice t-shirt Also good to know I’m not the only GM that really doesn’t see what else is going on when I’m running a game… Star Trek PedosWell...that’s disturbing… Maybe if we demanded more quality and didn't settle for crap, we might get more Fireflys and Expanses, and less of the other stuff. This is true… but I’m a Sci Fi whore… I’ll watch the worst drek…. I’m not a proud man... This is the Captain America that was mentioned in the podcast. Rob Liefeld is horrible and should have nothing to say about the creation of Deadpool. I largely like the 90s… but Rob Liefeld nearly ruined the whole decade… I never understood his popularity and I REALLY don’t understand why anyone listens to him now. Just because he shat out a good thing doesn’t mean all the other piles of detritus he left in his wake. He should be stripped naked and made to walk through the streets while we throw his terrible comic book art at him and yell “SHAME!!!”

Upvote for finding the image, but Deadpool is Liefeld's character - you can tell by the pouches - so whatever he says about Deadpool is Word of God on the topic. There's more than one reason why we call it the Dark Age of comics. Serious Deadpool (As in the first iteration with pouches on top of pouches) is his character. He can have that one. The current Deadpool we have now is not his creation and he should have no say about how it is portrayed.

This change never bothered me, but I never saw a point in having the scene added back
