My kids are starting to want me to leave hints for Father's Day. Does anyone have the science fiction companion book?

you can always check Amazon or Drivethru RPG. or if you were Desperate; Bittorrent; but i really don't recommend using Bittorrent if you don't wish to be arrested.

I plan on asking for a dead tree copy. From my kids.
My apologies for being seemingly obtuse but I was asking for people's opinions on the work.

I got a PDF copy at some point. It's decent enough, although because of my soft spot for Star Frontiers, I ended up using that and going with it for prior SF action. That said, their Sci Fi companion has all the basics you would want as far as describing all the basic armaments, spaceships, planet atmospheres and such, and a basic selection of races that goes only slightly above the ones you find in the standard Savage Worlds book. There is a large table that has various racial advantages and disadvantages to use in creating your own races. There is also The Last Parsec, which is a summary-type version of what you'll find in the Sci Fi companion. You can pick up the Star Frontiers stuff for free off of here: savageheroes.com/otherrpgs.htm, which you could always use to supplement the Sci Fi book with additional races and ships and spacey sounding artifacts. Would I recommend it? Well, if you aren't planning to do space adventures in another system like traveller, and you like your savage worlds, then yes.

I'm using it as a base for my Outlaw Star Savage World's game. I have found it pretty good in addressing some Sci fi basics (cybertnetics, aliens, etc) that Savage World's needed. The Last Parsec is also a great setting with a lot of decent meat to run players through. It is definitely more suited for pulp (as all Savage Worlds is) or space opera. Think lots of Aliens and fantastic technology less scrounging for resources and hauling cargo....More Star Wars or Star Trek vs Battlestar Galactica or Firefly.
My group is more fast and loose with rules so I had to house rule a few things where the companion did not meet our needs. I felt that the space ship combat had some holes in it, but that could just be due to my particular GM style.
Overall a fun companion with a lot of options. I'd recommend it if you want a more high epic sci fi game but, if you are drawn to the grittier elements of sci fi, i'd stick with Traveller.

For Walker rules clarification alone I love the Sci Fi companion. Everything else is gravy. Delicious, delicious gravy...

Space Walking Walkers who Walk on Space Stations (or "Swiss" for short)!
Always the Swiss...

As a side note I've been rolling around the idea of trying to recreate the Dragonmech setting in Savage Worlds with these Mech rules.

I have been thinking of doing something with cybernetics or mechs where they hunt down renegades for the government. However they discover that people know magic and the government is trying to exterminate the Wizards.
Up to the players where they go from there.
It would be a multi planet genre mashing escapade.
