I'd like to start a small group for a regular (meaning once or twice monthly) AD&D second edition game at my home in La Habra, CA.
No setting in mind at this point; in fact, I'd prefer that we create the starting village/town and its immediate surroundings as part of character creation. I know that it would be a "from zero to hero" game, with lots of RP. The game would initially allow only the Player's Handbook and Sages & Specialists (yes, I allow NPC classes for PCs if they're up for a unique RP challenge) books for character creation, and would build in selected options from supplements as the game continued.
I'm not completely opposed to an online game, but I don't have good luck with online games. In-person would be preferred.
Let me know if this sounds interesting to you.

I really don't like D&D, but I'd be happy to help you wrangle together the tools and methods to make an online game work. If you are interested let me know and I'd be happy to help out. As an aside, it might be helpful if you gave people a day and time (or at least some sort of availability), so they can determine if they are free. Good luck with your game, whatever route you decide to go.

Probie Tim : one of the best resources I've found for 2e is the old ADnD 2e Core Rules CD-Rom, but only if you get the Core Rules 2.0 expansion disc as it allows full customisation eg: importing NPC classes as PC classes. It shows up on eBay regularly and there are some mountable disc-images for *ahem* 'archival preservation purposes' floating about the interwebs. Aaron

I'd be happy to help you wrangle together the tools and methods to make an online game work. I might take you up on that; I'd probably have a much larger player base if I went online. one of the best resources I've found for 2e is the old ADnD 2e Core Rules CD-Rom, but only if you get the Core Rules 2.0 expansion disc I'm pretty sure I have those somewhere. WotC has also released a veritable metric eff-ton of 2E PDFs on DriveThru, as well.

Yes. Online would totally be better for you, personally, and have nothing to do with the fact that I might have a shot at joining.

Just putting a lid on this; I don't have enough interest for an in-person game, but I do have a few serious bites for an online game. So I'm going to go that route, definitely after Strategicon, though.

@probietim I sent you a PM about this thread. New to the forums so not sure how notifications work.
