I feel your pain. I was hospitalized at the beginning of December, and recovering until today (my first day back at work), so I haven't been able to listen to the cast... I'm up to 09 so far. Holy fuck. Are *you* OK? Yeah. It sounds worse than it ...erm... was? I had abscesses in my leg, they had to go in and clean them out. I went in time for it to be pretty straight forward. I think my doctor might have just been extra cautious in keeping me home. Upswing is that it looks like something took a BIG bite out of my leg, so I should be able to milk that... ^.^

Stork compared the guy trying to control the girlfriends character with parents misbehaving at sporting events. I think he's right on the money, except where it is a male thing. Women do this too. I've seen it on the archery range (I don't hang out at sports fields). It's pretty even between moms and dads.
I can't but feel like the reaction is stronger from the hosts because it is a women on the receiving end. Which is a thing I won't really comment on other than it was noticeable.

The argumentative player. Holy shit, he is a prime example of nerds who think they are so fucking smart yet have never fired a gun, camped outside, fired a bow, went skiing, hunted, etc. The shit is not like a video game. Because everyone is picking on JiB, I thought I'd join the party (lightheartedly) as "That Guy". Ahem. (Begin comic book shop owner/fat beard voice) "Wrapping a bat in barbed wire reduces its effectiveness as weapon because the wire acts as a shock absorber and the fasteners compromise the integrity of the bat. You would know this if you had ever watched Zombie Go Boom." (End Voice) Seriously though, don't be quiet. Your opinion is valued and you are allowed, neigh encouraged, to share your perspective.

I was in the middle of tsk-tsking them for immediately diving into social justice and proclaiming it misogyny. Also, less armchair psychology would be great.

I think the ire was mostly fueled by the fact that this was a first-time GM, in addition to the fact that this was a woman. And I think that's somewhat justified.
Go to any game convention and see how few female GMs offer games. It's VERY rare. Few female GMs in general. And maybe -- I'm guessing here -- that it's because (at least in part) of people like the subject of this email, who well-actuallys and argues constantly.
Kimi's perceived skepticism when players showed up to her game (in the early days) to find a woman GM.
Was it misogyny? From the information we had, there's no way to know. He may personally just not like her for some other reason.

Could also be he was happy with the other GM, and doesn't like change, and is rebelling against that. I know I have to monitor myself for knee-jerk reactions when faced with those sorts of changes.

I don't know what you all have going on out West, but back East we have plenty of women running games.

Am I the only one who felt sorry for Dave in South Chicago? I understand we all play these games as a form of escapism to a greater or lesser degree, but jeeze. How shitty a real life experience must you have had to rail against romance in games that hard?

I may have to jump forward a few episodes (I'm a bit behind) to see what all the hub-bub is about. Me too

I know I have to monitor myself for knee-jerk reactions when faced with those sorts of changes. . . . or maybe he wanted to sub in as GM but was never asked, ie: the changing of GM to give the regular GM a break was the GM's decision rather than a group decision and that's why he's being such a passive aggressive dick. He may have spent months or years having a whole campaign prepped in the wings and the dickish behaviour is more about frustration than anything else . . . 'when does one persons desire to GM trump anothers?' Aaron
