I'll be in CA first week of May. Was wondering where the HJ crew was located, to see if there is anything going on while I am there. Landing in LAX and driving to Irvine for training.
Cheers! Steve from Atlanta

I'll be in CA first week of May. Can't speak for the HJ "crew", but if you don't score anything else, we do have a weekly story game meetup in Glendale's Game Haus cafe on Tuesdays at 7pm. There's one scheduled for May 2: www.meetup.com/Story-Games-Glendale/events/kwktmmywhbdb/Recently I ran Atlas Reckoning (a Pacific Rim type story-game + card-game), but we run lots of relatively short-form indie-press RPG stuff. And the cafe has 1000 board games as a backup. The big problem is Irvine is far-ish, and traffic is horrendous, so going anywhere mid-week could be painful, depending on how early you can get out of training. Driving between 5-7pm could take 2 hours to go the 45 miles. EDIT: Leaving at 3pm, however, would probably reduce the travel time to about an hour. Or maybe a bit more.

I'd love to go to Sweden. Would an American/Canadian tourist in Sweden get in trouble?

I'd love to go to Sweden. Would an American/Canadian tourist in Sweden get in trouble? No. Most of us are friendly but a bit distant unless drunk. If you plan on visiting sweden go in August (summer) or during winter.

I'm in Texas. Stu Venable came thru my town for a business trip once... if he - or any of y'all - are in Corpus Christi ever, let me know.

Most of us are based in either the San Gabriel Valley area or the North Hollywood area.
Like Tomes said, far-ish from Irvine -- especially if traffic is bad.
If you're staying through the weekend, the Renaissance Faire opens April 8. Many of us will be out there.

I'm trying really hard to not only lose weight but also get more mobile so I can meet up with Stu and Bill at GenCon. Have no time off work so I can't really go to the con itself, but coming out for a day to have drinks and/or dinner is definitely doable if I meet the aforementioned weight loss and mobility.
