But what about jugglers? How can they create an advantage? Well, if they were juggling flaming chainsaws, that could be both a weapon and a distraction.

How is that creating an advantage though? I am inclined to agree But actually if you look at the movies in which it happens, the characters often use the chandelier to change position, taking a shortcut from one balcony to another to surprise a bunch of mooks, or dropping down on the villain from above, etc. That's just movement. It's called levels in Fate, right? You can move one level upwards easy, but beyond that, it can sometimes be an overcome? But if the goal is to get from one balcony to another and the gm decided it should be a challenge, then the overcome action works perfectly! Roll poorly and player and chandelier crash and fall!

If Detective Blue get's shot and killed with a gun and there are three suspects and no clues and you're just waiting for someone to investigate someone and then that's your killer; well then that's probably going to be a boring story. Actually, I have done this, and it can work quite well. I wanted a sort of Law & Order procedural feel, so I decided that I would let them investigate and the third lead they followed (even if it was following an earlier one again) would be the right answer. The trick is to make the leads the more interesting part. Focus on the investigation and treat the reveal as a sort of epilogue.

The trick is, speaking from my L&O viewing tendencies, keep the game and dialogue interesting so you don't have 'third act viewers'. I mean, I'm so used to L&O of various types - even shows like House or CSI - that generally it's only required to turn in for the last 15 min. Very seldom on L&O is suspect one the guilty person.

BTW, what happened to the "...and beer" part of the show intro?? Every since they started live-streaming on Twitch they kinda "cleaned up" a bit, like they're aiming less for an R rating and more for a PG16 or something. I feel like they're trying to have more mainstream appeal, which is unfortunate because they feel less unique now.

Seems like we all add "…and beer." Yay! I am inclined to agree But actually if you look at the movies in which it happens, the characters often use the chandelier to change position, taking a shortcut from one balcony to another to surprise a bunch of mooks, or dropping down on the villain from above, etc. That's just movement. But if the goal is to get from one balcony to another and the gm decided it should be a challenge, then the overcome action works perfectly! Roll poorly and player and chandelier crash and fall! I'm recalling that they're "zones," and characters can only shift one zone in a turn, so maybe the chandelier swing could be a great excuse to move two zones?
