Don't forget to collect the drink recipes! And, of course, kill Hitler.

Thanks for a good discussion! I agree with gina that Compels is one design element from the last few years that are worth incorporating into new games. Really good suggestion! I have used that myself in other games.

And it's not every episode that is locked at 1080, sometimes I can drop the resolution down to 720 or 480 so I don't get lag. Sometimes there is no option but to take 1080. Last night was 1080 or nothing. Yeah, it's not the first time that's happened. It generally hasn't been a problem for me in the past cuz I used to watch the live stream on Youtube (so I could pause it if I wanted to), but now that they're not bothering with streaming the live broadcast on Youtube it's kind of a pain. Hey Rudealert! Just wanted to touch base, it is 100% not our choice to stop streaming to YouTube. Our channel got flagged and we are in the appeals process, but until it is cleared we aren't able to stream live. We have been told that it should be cleared up by mid-September. Sorry for the inconvenience. In the meantime, we are having to manually uploading each episode to YouTube so people there don't fall behind. That might be impacting the resolution choices. If you mean the resolution options on Twitch, that is completely random. Twitch only has the bandwidth to offer a certain number of affiliate channels the resolution options. It's based on following and who started streaming first. Some nights we are more likely to get the resolution options than others depending on how many other people in the world are streaming. Hopefully, if we make partner someday, we will have it all the time. Hope this helps explain! Again, YouTube streaming should be back fairly soon.

Yeah I saw the posts on Facebook about the Youtube sitch, that really sucks. Youtube isn't known to be particularly responsive with its content creators so let's hope things can be resolved in a "timely" manner. (Quotations to denote sarcasm regarding the notion of anything ever being resolved in a truly timely way when dealing with Youtube's "ever-helpful" automated systems.)
As for the Twitch thing... that is the weirdest thing. And so bass-ackwards. I never thought that Twitch had some sort of prioritization regarding resolution, and even if I had considered such a thing I would have imagined that it would have been to throttle channels by forcing them to only stream at a lower definition, not locking them at 1080p... that is just so bizarre.
Well, good luck with all that.

Very similar tone, yes. But 1960s. The Commies are the badies.

Speaking of the OSR, how about inviting in Probie Tim to talk a bit about the movement, design philosophy and games worth checking out? I've gotten the impression that he's the resident oëssaree (at least on a probationary basis) when he's not "fudging" stuff.

I listened with interest to the different opinions about game mechanics in PbtA games, and how liking different things are okay. But then I was disgusted to hear that the entire crew loves cheesecake. Am I the only one in the world who doesn't? Has nobody else experienced the prejudice? Apparently, not liking cheesecake is controversial and provoking. I always get: "Oh, but have you tried it?" Yes, that's how I know that I hate it. "But have you tried THIS cheesecake? It teh awesome." Look, I have yet to taste any cheesecake that I didn't hate, and although you think that your cheesecake is da shiet, I. JUST. FUCKING. HATE. CHEESECAKE. Don't force me to try it if you're not prepared to hear that your cheesecake is just as disgusting as all other cheesecakes. Keep your cheesecake and leave the cookies to me. As for PbtA, I'm actually taking a liking to it.

I'm not a fan of cheesecake either. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, and it's usually wayyyyy to sweet for me to enjoy.

I carry a knife on me just in case I either have to cut cheesecake or stab people.
I love cheesecake.
Though I perfectly respect people’s dislike for cheesecake.
Normally I am against people who keep bugging me about stuff, but it took me three times to really warm up to PbtA because they play differently enough that I had to find the one that was right for me to run as a GM.

Cheesecake itself SHOULDN'T be very sweet, the topping is the carrier of the flavor and sweetness. I like plain cheesecake.

I'm perfectly fine with incredibly sweet things. Sweetness is delightful.
Cream cheese, however, is a vile abomination that must be purged from this world for the sake of the greater good.
Not a fan of cheesecake, is what I'm saying. But put a regular cake in front of me and I will be on that stuff like ... well, a fat kid on cake.

I'm not a fan of cheesecake either. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, and it's usually wayyyyy to sweet for me to enjoy. Just so you know, I once made a recipe for savory cheesecake. It was made with goat cheese. You schmear it on crackers. It was fucking fantastic, and not bit of sugar in it. It was more of a firm dip, but intensely rich.
