Around the 11 minute mark I believe Clockverk says why don't they just package the pdf with the book. Evil Hat games (Spirit of the Century/ Dresden Files) started or is at least big part of "Bits and Mortar" a coalition of publishers that give away pdfs if you buy their books at a FLGS. www.evilhat.com/home/pdf-guarantee/www.bits-and-mortar.com/Publishers I recognize on the list Cubicle 7, Galileo Games, Mongoose. Arc Dream will give you the Wild Talents Essential pdf with the purchase of any wild talents sourcebook.

My email was the second longest ever! I'm Josh in Orlando ;D I actually edited it down. One thing I must have edited out was although I was 15 at the time, GM mike about 20 years old.

I remember the Rainier Beer commercial. But I remember seeing it when visiting my Grandmother in Tacoma, WA.
I also remember that it's the water, the water, that makes Olympia Beer.
On the subject of Bennies. I recall first seeing something like them when I was introduced to Castle Falkenstine... I can't remember if it was a house rule or if it was part of the core rules... but they were called "Fortune's Cookies" and you turned them in for mitigating failures.
However, for me the first game mechanic that blew my mind and change how I looked at Tabletop RPGs was when I was first introduced to GURPS and the concept Disads. A rule that not only doesn't have much, if anything, to do with combat but REWARDS role play??? I've said it before but it was a literal "Clouds Part, Angels Sing" moment.
RE: Robert Jordan - What a surprise, Stork hates a dead guy.
You can say what you like, but when George RR Martin published the first installment of the Game of Thrones/Song of Fire and Ice, Jordan gave him a blurb saying people should read it and gave the whole thing a huge boost.

Yeah when I bought my copy of Traveller, the FLGS asked for my email address and later that day I got an email with a link to download the pdf for free. Around the 11 minute mark I believe Clockverk says why don't they just package the pdf with the book. Evil Hat games (Spirit of the Century/ Dresden Files) started or is at least big part of "Bits and Mortar" a coalition of publishers that give away pdfs if you buy their books at a FLGS. www.evilhat.com/home/pdf-guarantee/www.bits-and-mortar.com/Publishers I recognize on the list Cubicle 7, Galileo Games, Mongoose. stuThe movie with the iPhone-raving Hitler is called " Der Untergang" and if you haven't seen it, do it now. It is most excellent. Cheers

Couple things: Deadlands Noir: In the Kickstarter update with the download link Shane does say that if you have Savage Worlds Deluxe already you can gift this copy to a friend. I think a lot of people, including me, have just been getting by with explorer's edition. (I am likely going to buy the $9.99 deluxe softcover though). The Wheel of Time: I actually think the last Brandon Sanderson ones have been better than the later Robert Jordan ones. It's almost like an editor actually did some work, as opposed to just letting the author ramble on, and on, and on... I am peeved enough and don't like the series enough anymore that I check it out from the library and don't fork over any $$$. Kickstarter: I really like kickstarter, and even though a couple projects I've backed haven't gone as planned, I still think it's neat. I really think you should do what research you can on the producer. I almost backed a project the other day when I realized I had backed another project from the same publisher and it was experiencing delays... really? If you would finish one (or at least start finishing it) I might have backed this one, now you're not getting anything until you finish the first one. On a positive Kickstarter note: I would like to draw any Call of Cthulu fan's attention to the "No Security" kickstarter by Caleb Stokes (RPPR regular). Though it has already funded, most of the material is on a ransom model so it will be freely available (regardless of if you backed it or not) when he gets it finalized. www.kickstarter.com/projects/159466030/no-security-horror-scenarios-in-the-great-depressi

Thanx for reading my email, guys! I'm glad you liked the idea of my round-robin GMing approach and the game with all the episodic sessions shifting from one dimension to the next. It was a very memorable game.

Don't want to be that guy, but I'm going to explain what a Black Mage Doll was in FF9
SPOILERS(just in case)
"Black Mage Doll"
Black mage dolls are a sort of souless body.
The world has a reincarnation soul cycle, but the bad guy has interrupted this cycle. He can take the souls destined for recycling, mix them together, and put them into the souless body, creating a servant.
Sometimes they become self aware, and develop a personality. They are typically child like in their personality and curiosity while they are living. They only live a few months before they "stop" as other black mages call it.
So what happened in the email is that their friend Chad died, leaving an empty doll body. The bad guy recycled the body, added in more souls, and commanded the black mage to attack them.

So I finally finished the episode, it was hilarious... This is for Rob. 'Nuff said. ...I saw this kitten picture before I heard the whole podcast and didn't get the joke and now it is the funniest thing ever. If anyone was wondering, which they probably weren't, the Drizzt game was the only time I ever played with Mike so he wasn't our only GM. Andy and I were 15 the youngest in the group of friends. Mike was 20 and a friend of one the older guys in the group. I say this because I don't really know if his games ever got better, but this is the game he ran at 20. I wish I could say I had million funny stories to tell with Mike, but I kind shot my wad with that one. I'm glad the Happy jacks crew got a kick out of it, it is a little repayment for the hours of laughter you guys brought me. Also I'm proud to be in the ranks of JiB for long as hell email, maybe one day I will move to California to live the big life of an RPG podcast host. ahhh...livin' the dream...

Hey, I'm sure happy that Stork said such nice things about my Beacon game. I've seen a huge spike in visits to my blog, like 17 new visits. All the other Happy Jacks listeners must have stopped by to check it out. I would also like to say that Barking Squirrel ( www.hopcity.com/barking-squirrel/) is an actual beer here in Canada but I can believe that Stu was correct as well and that might in fact be the origin of the name. I remember growing up in Northern Ontario and having my uncles citing the elusive barking squirrel. Bunch of crazy Ontarios brewing their crazy beer would probably make that connection.

One of the letters mentioned Kostritzer beer. I jumped for joy, right out of my lederhosen! Best dark beer evah! Recommend finding it, drinking it, if you can! beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/648/1774/
