Also, I'm now determined to run an Intergalactic Cooking Challenge game called "Fried Green Tomatoes...of Mars"!

Quick thought...
In a lot of sci-fi games, it's not that uncommon for the protagonists to 'wake up' without much in the way of memory. This may be a good method to introduce them to the reality of the world.
Let's use Eclipse Phase for example. build everyone and give the edited memories as a flaw. They all wake up in a resleeving facility knowing some about themselves, but not too much about their surroundings. A handler gives them a mission briefing and they get to figure out about the world like a babe in the woods.
If they see something odd, and are curious, make a roll, ta-da! their muse pops up on the optics and gives them the encyclopaedia description based on a muse research roll.
Just a thought.
