Looking back on it I'd make my character a little different. I'm unfamiliar with how relatively awesome or mediocre a 175 point character should feel, but I feel the archery 17 seems high. I believe Inflatus was being kind to me as far as negatives on my attempt to shoot the guy running away in the leg, but discounting that it still seemed too easy. I feel a bit like a Munchkin. *shudder*
I have no experience beyond this session to base this opinion on. It's just my gut talking.

Now that the first session is done and a combat or two has been played things start to get real! Combat will improve and become more realistic. You may be glad that your have a 17 in Bow.

Question about combat. A lot of times you are asking for what they rolled under their skill, but I thought it was a straight roll against their effective skill (aka skill after all the adjustments). Am I mistaken?
Mind you, I have a grand total of 1 GURPS game under my belt...

Am I mistaken? Mind you, I have a grand total of 1 GURPS game under my belt... Outside of combat I knew what they needed to roll to succeed. I did not tell them what the modifier was because I wanted to be able to give them a certain amount of information based on the roll. I am able to control the information given. I don't remember asking them in combat. I think I just told them what the modifiers were to hit specific locations. We weren't using shock rules so the modifiers had to be hit locations or aiming with ranged weapons.

It was when they met the guys who were asking about their friends they were looking for and a fight broke out.

Any chance you could distribute future sessions as a podcast? I don't know how involved that would be. I just find it a little much easier to download a podcast and listen to it while working then to sit and watch a video.

There are a few things I need to work out but it is definitely on my mind.

You're already running wordpress... The powerpress plugin is a great podcasting plugin... I installed it. I already sent my feed into iTunes a week or so ago. It has already been approved and can be found on there. I have put my info in the plugin settings for iTunes. A question though. If I use the options for the podcast in my next post for the 2nd actual play, will it update through the plugin or through feedburner? That is currently how I set it up.

The plugin will automatically update your RSS feed. The new episode will show up in iTunes when iTunes next pings your RSS. (you used to be able to do this manually, but they've removed that function.
