I'm probably going to head along to it, not too bothered by the guest list (it looks good but I don't get much out of signings personally) but will be good to get some good con gaming done, may even submit a game or two for it, am tempted to use one of the 2 Sides 1 Epic entries if I do run anything.

Fair point, I wasn't even considering that they might just do signings.. I thought more along the lines of panels and workshops. Slightly dampens my enthusiasm But yes Con gaming will be good, it's been more than a decade since my last con. So BRING IT ON!

I suspect there will be panels and the like as well but if they're aiming for a lot of people then it may be difficult to get into them. The other thing I've got to decide on is the cost, not sure I'm willing to pay that much just to get a weekend of gaming in.

I'd love to go but the price? seriously? for a crowded funded project it's pretty steep. To compare a full long weekend LARP (including lodging and food and booze)would be covered by the price of that entry ticket alone. I know it'll be a great con I just don't think it's actually reasonable value for money . . . there's a recession and the organizers are severely out of touch with the reality of the rest of Britain. The thing about London prices are they are only ever acceptable to people in London. Even the Glastonbury Owner/Organizer this year admitted that the fence and the stupid ticket prices had effectively killed Glastonbury . . . being less a celebration of music and more a BBC hipster wankfest Aaron

^I work in London and still came to the conclusion that the price is way over the top. But then I did say that the moment I considered myself a Londoner was the time when I needed to move.

So in conclusion: no matter where you are coming from in the UK it's massively overpriced for what it is. Bit like Sainsburys Aaron

Yeah but Gen Con is 'Gen Con' and it isn't crowd funded. Wonder how much to charter a plane UK to Gen Con if split several ways? Aaron

Well the thing is, we rarely have full weekend long things like this. It's the first super big one in a massive venue, plus it's in bloody London. It's pricey, yeah, and that's enough to keep people coming, fine. But it was never going to be simple and cheap with the amount of guests they called for. I can only realistically go for maybe Saturday and Sunday and I got mine in advance so it was only like 60.
