Howdy guys,
I semi-recently moved to Oakland after living in DC for 3 years, and after putting some time in with the local gaming stores I am still looking for a regular group. Really should have started here, but what you gonna do.
While in DC I missed out on gaming a whole lot--very busy with school and the area isn't exactly ideal for gaming--and so had to make due with podcasts and Myth-Weavers. I've only had experience playing d20s, but I am really interested in getting into something like Call of Cthulhu or Eclipse Phase or really anything dark and gritty, preferably lethal with some crunch behind it.
I don't have a car, but can use public transit/a bike pretty well, so I can travel most places reasonably close by. Any Happy Jackers love in northern California?

I'm located up in Sacramento, which is about 75 miles from Oakland. I would highly recommend getting over to Endgame, if you have not already.

Never got a chance to play the many years I lived up in the bay area, but did stop by Endgame in Oakland a few months back, and it is a NICE looking shop... reminds me of game empire and emerald knights down here in LA area. Definitely check it out, that should be a good way to get started.

I live in Oakland. I run a bi-weekly D&D game (Next playtest rules, until I get the core 3 books for X-Mas) and if it were the right fit, we might have a space open. I also recommend checking out Endgame. They have a monthly (usually the last Sunday) RPG day that is like a mini-con. I've played in it, and am running my first game in it July 27th. I literally JUST signed up for the forums, after listening to the podcast for a year+ (just had my first letter read in s11e04) so I'm not sure if there's a way to message, but yeah.... we should maybe grab a beer. P.S. I just saw that this thread is over a year old. Not gonna hold my breath for that beer.
