Howdy folks,
I know this has been discussed on the podcast a few episodes ago, but I am struggling with a "what to do" with an NPC and thought a spy/double agent might be cool.
The setup:
I was thinking he might see her and perhaps: question his motives with dealing with those working for aliens, try to capture her, go on a killing spree..something
Of course he captured her..and I don't know where to go.
I thought perhaps she could have "let" herself be captured (even the players commented that they thought that fight was a little too easy) in order to get in the inner circle and learn their secrets.
Question is: Is this too much a dick move? How do I do it without being a total dick?
Do I let them roll notice to see if she is lying? They are going to want to, but one super roll and they "spot" the lie wayyyy early on and off her. There has to be a balance between mechanics and story and bennies spent can make pretty much anything happen.
Her powers do lean towards mind control..so I could just say she is very very good at hiding her intentions?
I was thinking worse case she can try to escape..she is a super sorceress after all and has access to all sorts of gaming breaking powers
Thought? Suggestion?
I know this has been discussed on the podcast a few episodes ago, but I am struggling with a "what to do" with an NPC and thought a spy/double agent might be cool.
The setup:
- This is for a Necessary Evil Savage Worlds cam gain. (super villains defending earth against invading aliens)
- One of my players was almost killed during the initial attack, but the radiation blast actually triggered his latent superpower and turned him into a super.
- He lost his family and fiance in the same blast
- He hates the invading aliens, but is careful to avoid what hurting innocents. Anyone that is helping the aliens is fair game...he is very brutal towards them
- Last session I had them attacked by a gang that was working for the aliens, but the gang was being run by non-other than his presumed dead fiance
- She is now a super sorceress (captured by aliens and tortured bringing forth her powers)
- Originally planned on him just seeing her towards the end, during their get away, but just like typical players they fought the attack head on and managed to "take her out"
- I was tired and not really being inventive..there were tons of things I could have done to let her get away..but whats done is done.
- He was going to outright kill her, but he decided his final "wound" on her would be non-lethal and just knocked her out
I was thinking he might see her and perhaps: question his motives with dealing with those working for aliens, try to capture her, go on a killing spree..something
