What did I learn...what did I learn...
1. The HJ Community is amazing. I only played 3 games and ran one, but I had a blast. It wasn't weird getting into any of the games. It was like playing with a group I've played with before. And I guess in some instance it was true because I played multiple games with Laura, DT Pints, Jaiden, and Blood Sparrow! 2. I want to play or run a regular online game with you crazy people! 3. After running my game for the fourth time now, I've never had someone die in the first five minutes of game play, save any of the NPCs, or escape the building. Now I can say I have! 4. It's tough to run my particular game without my co-gm, but I managed. It was useful to have chat windows open for each player. Also, I learned that technology, while a pain in the ass sometimes, can be your friend and make your game more immersive. 5. Fiasco is still one of my favorite games. I've never played a game where things don't go terribly wrong. Also, playing the Cheeseburger Fucker is quite amusing. Sorry, Brad. 6. I'll never play HERO with someone that doesn't know the system. JiB made it sooooo simple. Also, I learned I can play a big brawly, womanizer character. Can't say I've ever played any of those types before.
Above all else, thank you all for the fun times! I seriously want to play/run something in the future. I've got a million books...just let me know! :-)
And a big thanks for all the fun for the simple reason that this is the first time since being on summer break from my work that I've had a REALLY fun weekend. I've been stuck writing my thesis, and I finished it the Friday before this weekend. You guys rock!

The main thing I learned from JackerCon (besides the fact that everyone on these boards are great people to play with, which I knew already) is that Google+ Hangouts kicks the ever-loving shit outta Skype's ass for online roleplaying. I ain't never going back to the Big Blue S. If only I'd done my first Happy Jacks Dungeon World games on G+ Hangouts. Ah well. Live and learn. A big thank you to D.T. Pints for putting this whole thing together. And thanks for getting me to run a Dungeon World game. It was awesome. I can't wait to do it again next year. Or possibly even sooner.

muntjack - how did you open a separate chat window for each player? Christopher Wailken accents are much better than bennies or their equivalent. Aaron

It's easier when we're all at the same table. The biggest thing I learned at JackerCon is how totally f'ing amazing this bunch of people is though I can say I already knew that I was very firmly and wonderfully reminded of that fact. Cheers, JiB

Kainguru, I used the built in chat client for gmail/google+. I messaged all my players, then clicked the "pop out" option. That way I had all 4 chat windows sitting next to the G+ hangout to send secret messages throughout the entire game. Helped our the creepy factor!

Things I learned: 1) Having lots of experience with G+ and hangouts doesn't mean your players have it too. 2) Don't bother spending the time troubleshooting On-Air when it works off-air, have a backup to record locally ( I use Open Broadcast Software, it's free ) 3) Don't schedule a game up against @dtpints, you'll be at a loss for players. 4) Expect non-gamers to not understand that you're occupied. 5) Don't forget to pause the recording when you take a break (oops!) 6) EVERYONE took the 'Real Life' disad and the GM loves to compel it. 7) HJ gamers are the BEST in the business and I'll game with them anytime I can.

That was actually a good impression Bloodsparrow I was sat next to Kainguru watching and listening...even though I didn't participate it was great fun and thought you were all fantastic! You're all lovely and would love to sit in on it all again PS the part where you held up your 'guns' to the camera...AWESOME Thank you, it was a good impression eventually. That first attempt was pretty miserable. 16 Episodes if the "Talkin Walkin" broadcast can only help so much. (Re: guns & camera). Thanks!

I learned that if you drop a laptop on concrete, it breaks and will no longer boot.

That those of you who organized this thing - D.T. Pints *bow to you, sir - deserve hi-5's and have ginormous balls of brass or something even more astounding. Really, digital in my analog games scares the bejeezuz out of me, and you guys did a whole weekend of it. Bravo!

I really like the idea of someone stepping up and saying hey I'm going to run SIX SESSIONS of Game X. They'll be on this day, this time. Any takers...I think with 25+ players/GMs participating in Jackercon we have the potential to put a bunch of oniline games together. I just know with my schedule I like to know that I'm signing on for a certain number of sessions and then after that we can figure it out. Just a thought. There's already TRAVELLER Wednesdays, L5R on Sundays, probably FATAL Fridays somewhere and I have a pretty good idea who'd be running it, yeah I'm looking at you Madam President!. (Let's just say I bet that there might be some image blurring and voice alteration going on to protect the guilty...fucking sock puppets.)
I've just begun to do a quick edit of the AP's from Youtube to turn into an audio Actual Play for all you poor bastards trapped in your cars, or in the tube, subway, aircar, or dirigible. If any of the GMs are planning to do this with their games let me know. Otherwise the plan will be to have them all available to download from the Jackercon google drive account. Oh yeah! We're gonna have our own Google Drive...just don't use it as your secret glory hole photo dump.
Cheers,
Curt .
