So, wait, ok... we post the games we want to run in the other forum and then you put them here? Or how is signup going to work?

I can just make you another subforum for signups if you like.

If that isn't too much of a pain that'd be great Stu. Sir Guido is right that conplanner is a bit of a pain and having everything in one place might be easier.
Thanks for that again!
So if we have one sub forum to just discuss games and another to sign up for them we should be good to go.

D.T. Pints: could you 'sticky' the schedule threads so they stay in order. ie each new post bumps them around and it's harder to track a time slot as a result. Aaron

Has anyone considered Warhorn.net? My local monthly mini con uses it. I believe it's free.

Have you ever used Warhorn? From the scheduler's side of things its a huge pain in the ass.

I think so far having the Jackercon schedule in the Jackerland Forums is working nicely. Now if I can just get my early morning CHUD brain to figure how to sticky those games in order...

So if we have one sub forum to just discuss games and another to sign up for them we should be good to go. I'm curious if frustration with ConPlanner was brought to Dan R of FTB? They "eat their own dog food" (as we say in open source development). Feedback on services like ConPlanner is important. I can't possibly imagine, for the con organizers, that collecting and managing data from a "sub-sub" forum (where human nature will pollute the thread with game discussion) could be any better than frustration with an online service. If ConPlanner is not to the organizer's criteria, warhorn is certainly an alternate. But ConPlanner feedback to Dan R. should be feedback into community. Also Tavern Keeper is working heavily with ConTessa to create online game convention scheduling tools.

Also Tavern Keeper is working heavily with ConTessa to create online game convention scheduling tools. No I think conplanner is a great tool just not as useful for an online con with INTERNATIONAL participants. Juggling timezones and schedules and what not became rather problematic in Jackercon I using conplanner. So I got the bright idea to keep the scheduling of all games right here in the Good ol' Forums. Partially out of selfish reasons because I'm a forum junkie and want everyone to be right there with me...BUT that turned out to also be a shit ton of work and not what I had in mind when I proposed this lil' ol shindig. In the end my DREAM OF JACKERCON *gazes into the middle distance as the string section builds into a lovely crescendo* is to pick a week, GMs put up games during that week, players sign up, Players and GMs keep in contact, game happens, I get to see a bunch of Jackers (yeah I know phrasing...) playing/running games. And for me about 5% effort. So far this has been the case. Tavern Keeper with Contessa seemed like a cool tool also, but maybe a bit unnecessary. It appears with 13+ make that SIXTEEN games and now 105 people signed into the community...that people are figuring it out. Thanks for the feedback! Conplanner is a great tool. Cheers, Curt.
