So what do people think of the updates?
I like integrity. Conditions seems very FATE like. Jury is still out on new social interactions.

Wait...am I missing something? How do you gain integrity back other than XP?

I iust saw this. I very much enjoy the updates. They made a number of changes that I believe had become common house rules. I love the revamped xp system and the integrity system. I think the conditions are a good solution to a complicated set of rules. Ill be interested to read the new vampire book, the pdf was released a few weeks ago. Also, I loved the whole god-machine fiction. Incredibly flavorful, while also allowing for other stories. In short, splendid.

I'm not feeling the Strix as the uber-enemy of the Vampires, though. I dunno.

I've run a few sessions of a Hunter game using many of the new rules. I greatly appreciate the consolidated merits, when making pregens for a oneshot. We havent made use of the social rules yet, but I like the conception of it for longer term npc interactions. I like how XP is handled, though I keep a group pool that gets split after each session.
The new combat rules I have avoided so far. It seems very inspired by Shadowrun, but I was happier with the simplicity of the older system. Plus, crunchier combat is not something I'm interested in for the investigation heavy game I'm running.
Did anyone run with the new combat rules and like them better?

I'm considering adapting them for my Mage game, hoping to do some mock runs this weekend.

I have to say I appreciate how modern the updates feel. The more I played "new" games that were coming out, WoD was starting to feel dated.
The "Down and Dirty Combat" roll works so perfect for the high powered political campaign I run. In that game, if a PC is getting their hands dirty in combat, things have gone completely off the rails. They have people for that. So combat is mostly reserved for moments where impulse control is lost.
The only thing I do different is allow the player to narrate the outcome based on their success or failure.
