Nope, strictly for Fun OR Profit. We never mix the two

Incentive for people considering going to Xenocon...Azuretalon and I will be running Wife Swap: Pirates vs Ninjas on Sunday. The premise is quite simple: two families (one pirate and one ninja) are recruited for a television show, where the wives are switched and interesting times ensue.
Also, I'm thinking of running a game where the Grim Reaper has gotten so fed up with awful modern versions of the Undead (Twilight) that he brings a group of dark writers back from the grave to take care of the problem. Possible PCs considered so far are: Edgar Allan Poe, Emily Dickinson, Mary Shelley, Bram Stoker, and H.P. Lovecraft. More on this idea to come as I develop it.
Oh, the crazy thing one thinks of while sitting at Steak n Shake.

Twooo weeks! The full XenoCon event calendar has now been posted for any and all to see. Myself, I'm really looking forward to a few of these games. I'd love to get in on the Dresden Files game with the rest of the HJ Midwest crew if there's a spare seat, and there are about 4 games that I'd really like to play if they weren't in the same timeslot as the Grindhouse Arena...

An unfortunate update: Due to circumstances entirely outside the control of XenoCon, there will be no Pathfinder Society games at the convention this year.
I'm highly annoyed by this.

Ouch, that is quite a blow so close to the show.
Hopefully they will be there next year.

Yo Jimto! I'll have to skip the first slot too, so if I see you there and you're bored before the second slot on Saturday, I'll keep ya company, haha.

Ugh... this sucks, but I'm afraid I won't be able to come to Xenocon this year.
Due to stuff with work, and family, and... I don't even know what, my wife and I are travelling all over the place, together and separate (mostly separate) during this entire month. That weekend is our only time at home together, so I kind of need to make it a domestic weekend, as it were.
Sorry guys. Roll some dice or drink something or whatever, for me.

It really pains me to inform any of you who are attending, but haven't already heard the bad news: Frank Mentzer had to cancel for health reasons.
Very disappointing, but it is what it is. Sorry guys, maybe next year.

Good times, good times. Went to bed to bed way early, but still exhausted.
I played Dresden, Savage Worlds, and Don't Rest Your Head for the first time.
I played in a OWoD Vampire game crossed with Call of Cthulhu. Ran very well, with Muntjack playing a chain smoking monkey/gorilla thing who only speaks at certain times and flings poo out of a semi at high speeds.
Veramond's SW game descended into Anarchy quickly. We didn't get to the end since we rode out of town on a wagon after half the party decided to kill each other, but it was non-stop laughs the whole time.
Playing in Muntjack's Gothic Horror Rises game I was HP Lovecraft. And although my racist ways got me murdered in the end, I, with a lot of help, killed Stephanie Meyer. Killing Mrs. Meyer was particularly fun as I bullrushed her through a portal I created and dropped her 71 stories inside an elevator shaft. I don't rate the game sessions I play in, but if I did, that one would be very near the top of the list. From Oscar Wilde's persistent drinking, Emily Dickinson's disgust at HPL's racism, to Mary Shelley animating a toaster (which, oddly, turned out to be British), that entire session was just a blast the entire way through.
Got to hang out and bullshit with my Happy Jack's friends, met some new ones. For a first time convention I thought it went really well. For sure gonna make it back next year.
