So last week, a MSH retro-clone called FASERIP was released. I've never been a big supers "guy", but I loved me some MSH and FASERIP is really cool. I'm thinking of putting together a horror conspiracy supers game for Jackercon using FASERIP. Think something kind-of Hellboy-ish but with super heroes; you, the good guys, would be fighting Things Man Was Not Meant To Know and their super-powered cultists. Or powerful vampire crime-lords, ruling the city from the dark shadows of the night. Stuff like that... I'm only reading the system now and I don't have a scenario put together, but I really like it and want to run it.
Anyway, let me know if you'd be interested in such a game.

Concept for the game sounds awesome!!
Is FASERIP more playable than MSH was?

Just as long as there is a nice color coded chart that has things described as Shift Z and such...

There is! But instead of green, yellow, and red there's bronze, silver, and gold. And instead of Shift X, Y, and Z, there's Single-Shift, Double-Shift, and Triple-Shift (plays just the same but, you know, copyright and all that stuff). There's also more powers and options and stuff, and the character creation is different and better. Really, if you liked MSH you'll really like FASERIP.

I remember playing MSH in high school. The only thing I really remember was everyone wanting to be the Silver Surfer because if you whacked somebody with the Surfer's surfboard you were pretty much guaranteed to knock a bitch out!

By more playable maybe blydddreug was referring to "Maybe they actually say how invisibility is used in combat." We are playing classic MSH now and man is there some house ruling going on just to make things work... But I digress...I am interested in trying FASERIP.

So last week, a MSH retro-clone called FASERIP was released. I thought FASERIP had been around a long time before last week. Well, that was posted on 4/29. Marvel Super Heroes (MSH) was released back in the 80s sometime, and it used a system that came to be known as FASERIP (after the first letter of each of the system's attributes: Fighting, Agility, Strength, Endurance, Reason, Intuition, Psyche). What I was referring to was a new OGL retro-clone of the MSH system that is coincidentally actually called FASERIP. gratisgames.webspace.virginmedia.com/faserip.html
