If you find a good pic you can submit it to rpol, and they'll add it to the available ones.

I'm a big proponent of RPOL, I've used it a lot. It is a bit confusing at first, but it gives you a lot of functionality for running PbP games. The only real downside (other than the look-and-feel) is that PCs can't create threads, they all have to be started by the GM. I always created, like, an OOC chatter thread and a few "generic" threads for PCs to use. What's some of the functionalty it offers? The best way to familiarize yourself with it is actually to create your own campaign so you can get access to all the options, as certain functionality is available only to GMs. But here's a list of a few things (Tim or others might be able to contribute some more.) GM's can control what threads are visible to what players by assigning group access -- and there are a LOT of available groups. If the GM wants the entire game to be private, s/he can assign all threads to Group 1 or higher. People can send private messages to one another even within a public post -- all such private lines are visible to anyone with GM access. Anyone who can see the private line knows it is a private line, because it is visible prefixed with "Private to" and has a different formatting. But GMs can also send "secret" lines in a post that is visible only to PCs designated by the GM -- and not even those PCs know it is a secret line. Imagine the GM wants to say the PC hears noises down the hallway, in the dark ... or voices whispering. Only that PC sees that text, the other players do not -- and the PC posts a reaction that seems totally out of left field to the others. GMs can set up "language groups" so that PCs who understand language X can understand a portion of a post while the others just see gibberish. The dice roller has a lot of options for configuring to match the system being played. GM's can fudge dice rolls on the dice roller; a GM can roll on behalf of a PC under that PC's name. You have game-specific private messaging that is separate from the RPOL whole site rMail messaging. (Unfortunately, it doesn't allow for foldering.) Each player has a private "scratch pad" to keep notes. A GM has an option to post as any PC, if needed to keep a scene going while a player is away. A GM can post on-the-fly under an NPC in any given scene without having to actually create the NPC as a separate character in the cast list. The cast list tells the GM the last time the player logged on. There is a Wiki function; the GM can set rights to let players edit Wiki pages. There is a large and active community; it's easy to recruit players for a game (though attrition is high) and to find games to apply to (though GM burnout is common).

Right. We seem to have stalled out a bit during set up here.
I'd like to push things forward so we can get to actually playing, because that is where things get good. To that end, I'm putting a deadline on things: 11:59:59 March 31st.
If you haven't posted your Strings before Midnight, April 1st LA time,, your character is getting bumped to the background and we're going to start without you. Your initial Strings will go to someone else and we'll have to proceed as if they aren't there.
That's two times TWO DAYS to get setup finalized so we can begin play.
Also, part of the reason I started this play-by-post game is due to my lack of free time for a face-to-face game. Real life has a way of rearing its ugly head and stealing all my free time. So there are absolutely no hard feelings if people have to bow out of the game due to a lack of time. Once things get going I'm aiming for people to post at least once a day, as that seems like a decent rate. If people don't feel like they're able to do that, again, no hard feelings of you bow out.

I appreciate the help! I am just thinking of a more homunculus route as opposed to being all stitched up.
