Hello all.
As the topic says, I haven't had the thrilling-yet-terrifying experience of having my Jackercon cherry popped.
I'd love to participate, but I've never played in a con game, much less a game online. I regularly GM and (regrettably) irregularly play irl, so I think this'd be a really fun thing to try, especially with how awesome and welcoming the HJ community is.
Do you have any advice, beyond the obvious "don't be a dick"? Is there any special protocol to go through for online games in particular? Do you recommend Jackercon as a good first-time experience?
Thanks for your thoughts, folks.

I'd fully recommend diving right in to JackerCon if you can, in my experience the games are generally good and people welcoming. There's no special protocol for online games but what I would suggest is getting familiar with the G+ hangouts if you can, even if it requires just opening one on your own as a test. As there are often technical difficulties I'd also advise being online a little in advance where possible and if you can message the GM on G+ to let them know once you're on.
The final thing I'd say is just to be careful about talking over people. With how the hangouts work there is often a bit of lag in the audio and unlike in real life it's not possible to discriminate multiple voices that are all speaking at once.

Let the GM know you're new, it helps them get their bearings.

Here's my advice;be patient and let people talk. The worst part with online hangout/roll20/etc is when someone starts talking over you. Let people talk through what they are saying please.
