I know one exploit in Masquerade Since a low generation make a vampire only one upper than his, here a trick A low generation could take someone who deserves to die, capture him, bound him, make him a vampire and allow his high generation coterie to diablerize until they all one generation higher than his.
Example. A party of four 14th and one 8th generation could capture people. The 8th turn them to 9th, the party diablerize them et voila! The party is now one 8th gen and four 9th gen.
All the Sabbat and Assamite could do the same

I suppose that depends on your definition of exploit. Real world consequences, degeneration rolls, etc., would all potentially come into play.
It also assumes that the leader wants to create a situation where he/she is the next logical item on the menu...

That's less "removing an exploit" than a difference in focus. Masquerade had, as one of its central themes, that the PCs were low men on the totem pole oppressed by ancient vampires - the Generation mechanic reinforced this.

There are still plenty of paths that would have issue with that sort of practice. And that only makes it *more* likely that El Capitan starts looking like he's got an umbrella and a nice garnish sticking out for f him.

Most Sabbat are still on the Path of Humanity, they are just very low. Other Paths are very rare for modern vampires.

I'm sure nothing will go wrong, eating the souls of more powerful vampires. They totally won't exert themselves or take over. You'll be fine!
