Faction motivations - a request for input

I'm hoping to get a bit of collaborative brainstorming for use in my campaign. The PCs are currently VERY deep within a megadungeon, and last night they blew right past everything I'd already had prepared and into (mostly) uncharted territory. I winged it long enough to get to the end of the session satisfactorily, but in preparation for the next game I now need to figure out the motivations of several factions in this new region.
-----------------------
Back story: The PCs obtained a map that leads to a secret (evil) Chaos Cult temple far, far below the city streets, They've spent the last eight game sessions exploring and battling their way through the Dungeon, and they're now only one or two sessions from their goal.
-----------------------
Faction 1: The Kuo-Toa
The map warns that one of the "Fish Men" should be hired/bribed as a guide through their territory.
The map does NOT say that the kuo-toa have a pretty big settlement here, including a massive water temple. The PCs don't know about any of that.
- What price will they demand for allowing strangers to pass through their territory? A sacrifice to their dark, watery god? Money? Food?
- How likely are they to double-cross these do-gooder interlopers? (100%, unless the PCs can convince them they're cultists!)
The PCs are literally one room away from encountering these guys.
Faction 2: The Quaggoths
There is a small but strong clan of shaggy, hulking quaggoths living nearby. (I just have a bunch of those minis, and wanted to use 'em.)
I haven't really come up with any goals or motivations for these guys. I could use them as dumb savages, but it'd be more fun to add some kind of unexpected twist.
Faction 3: The Peaceful Orcs
A clan of orcs have settled in the remains of an ancient dwarven outpost, and have built themselves a little frontier-style town where anyone (or any thing) who doesn't disturb the peace is welcome.
They aren't interested in conquest of any kind, but they're not friendly with either of the other two factions.
Aside from the town name (Thromka, translates to "Warm Greeting" in orcish) and a map, I haven't prepped anything for this location. There's definitely a tavern and some shops. That's all I have so far here.
-----------------------
I've got three weeks until the next session, so I have plenty of time to come up with something good. But I wanted to hit y'all up for some twisted fun DM ideas...
