My wife and I make a Game of Thrones cocktail with a theme based on whichever character led in points in last episode going by her fantasy game she's playing.
Last week Daenarys won (she's on my wife's team!), so I made:
1 1/2 oz Powers whiskey (Dragons, Unsullied, Dothraki: she's got lots of powers) 1 oz Irish Poteen (give it the extra strength she deserves) 1/2 oz Creme de Violet (for color and sweetness that you think she has when you first meet her) Garnished with a bourbon soaked cherry, stuck with a match (instead of a toothpick) and lit.
A weird inky-purple in color it had a sweetness at first with some definite oomph that hits after. Pretty tasty, if I do say so myself.
My wife made: 2oz Creme de Yvette 1oz Cointreau 1/2 oz Creme de Cacao juice of 1/2 lime splash of absinthe
Sweet and tasty as well.

I'm mainlining Phil'z Fair Trade Peru coffee today, but I can mention what a few standout beers were from my recent stateside trip:
Stone's RuinTen with orange peel and vanilla: a fantastic combination of an IPA and an Orange Julius. Honey Bunches of Hops, a cloudy imperial IPA with major citrus notes; more lemon-y than pine. Fantastic. Founder's Breakfast Stout, a seriously rich and chocolate/coffee feeling stout.
I'm "chronovore" on Untappd, if anyone else here uses the app to track beers. Feel free to add me, or post your handle here!

GoT Season Finale cocktails. (See above for what my wife and I do).
The Night King won last week, but being the season finale, the cocktails were opened up to favorite characters.
I kept with the current theme and went for something cold, crisp, and clear; essentially a vodka martini tonic. 2.5 oz vodka (from Iceland, of course) 0.5 oz dry vermouth A squeeze of lemon. Stirred in a shaker of lots of ice, poured into a Collins glass and topped with tonic.
It is what I expected: cold, relatively bland. Nothing special, but I feel I hit my mark. I'm not sure what I would have added to give a hint of undead flavor.
My wife made a Maid of Tarth: 1oz St Germaine 1oz lemon juice 2oz whiskey (Jameson's) 2 dashed Orange Bitters Cinnamon-sugar rim (half the glass)
While not as bold as what I was expecting for Brienne, it is a tasty beverage and I conceded to her this time.

Um... *that* is an amazing drink name. Homonym as fuck. (as the kids say) (EDIT: I'm pretty sure "the kids" don't say that.)

Most nights, beer. Some nights, Lagavulin 16. I'd like to make more cocktails, but my gear is 2000 miles away right now!

I would leave it. It's like it's made of hardcore. "Made of Tarth."

I have been bequeathed the liquor collection of a good friend, who has been collecting stuff in Japan for decades. One of the items is a triangular-bottled 10-year Glenfiddich Pure Malt in a very old looking cylindrical tin. My first thought is that this is from some era before Glenfiddich exported single-malts, as there was a time when it was considered too rarified a taste. So my assumption is that this is a blend, so I don't have high hopes.
I have a drink. It is magnificent.
I have another drink the next day. It wasn't my imagination, it is really, REALLY good. I look more closely at the bottle. It says it's from 1974. Investigating on the web, I haven't found a perfect match on it, but what I'm seeing so far is that it's no longer bottled this way, hasn't been for decades.
I'm going to treat it a little more reverentially from here on out, and toast my departed friend each time.

Black Raven, a local seasonal brew. It's a beer brewed with coffee beans that we're soaked in Bourbon.
Also, breaking out my 12 year Glenfiddich. It's not a special occasion but I drink alone a lot so, why not.
