It's not just KS that suck on delivery dates - The UK and anything FFG Star Wars makes KS look positively punctual (says he STILL waiting on his copy of 'Special Modifications' ordered Oct 2016) Aaron

Look, I'm a reasonable guy. I understand you can't control artists/writers getting sick, the printer's schedule, how fast the boat gets here from China, or UPS/USPS delivery times. That's totally different from "the pdf we offered you is done and can be delivered as promised, but we refuse to send it to you for +X months".
In related news, I had been trading emails with another backer on Top Secret. Not long after I asked to leave, he also got an email that he was no longer a backer and had been refunded. TSR basically just booted him for voicing the same complaints many have in the comments.

If I ever have a Kickstarter, I'm going to pad the ship date by 6 months. "UPDATE: Stu's kickstarter, 'I'm Gonna Make Macaroni Salad,' has been delayed…"

I thought Caleb Stokes' podcasts about his Kickstarter have been really interesting. (FYI: book is shipping presently). They're on RPPR's main feed, "Game Designers Workshop" is the title lead"

I’ve been pretty lucky (?) with Kickstarters. I avoided Far West and the Queens Cavaliers (which is a good thing) But I only pledge what I can afford to lose. My expectations are different, when I pledge to some Joe with no track record, then I want to know that ALL the development is done, PDFs are ready (or maybe awaiting just a few illustrations and layout) and the chaps just needing money to go to print. More commercial operators have earned my trust for longer development times. My only real delay is Aquellare, a year late now, but Stewart Wieck is dead, which is a hell of an excuse, AND I only pledged $5.

I've been pretty lucky, I've only had two that were really late, and one of those I did ultimately get. Bottom line for me is that I consider money given to kickstarter to be thrown away and if I see the goods great, wonderful, if not oh well ... That said, if a backed someone's ks and they buggered off, and then came back for another one, yeah that would be a no ...
As always just my 2 krupplenicks on the subject, your mileage may of course vary.

I managed to get a copy of Special Modifications, but still waiting for Fully Operational. I am not looking forward to scrambling for a copy of new L5R.

If I ever have a Kickstarter, I'm going to pad the ship date by 6 months. On a similar note - and I can't find the original article I'd read it in - a major airline (I want to say Delta) got a lot of customer service complaints from DFW and people getting to the baggage claim before their baggage. Their solution? They changed ends, making it farther to walk, so of course, to the customer, they hate the airport for the walk but are pleased for their luggage to be waiting on them. #PowerOfPerception
