So I’ve been trying to plan a Supers game for months now. I keep bouncing from system to system. I’ve been focused on Mutants And Masterminds at the moment. But prepping NPCs are becoming a hassle. Then I looked at GURPs 3E because I want to learn the system, which is probably a bad idea. As in leaning GURPs to do Supers. As some have mentioned it may not do well. So now I’m looking at Fate because my group seems to have some interest in it. One member wants to run a heist game in Fate. I picked up the Venture City book a while ago and now thinking of looking at it. Some here have mentioned that Fate would really work well.
What I’m looking to do is a good four color silver age comics game. Perhaps with a bit of marvel cinematic universe thrown in. I saw that Daring Comics is on Bundle of Holding and it has some interest in making Fate Supers a little crunchier. Does anyone have any experience with it? Any advice would be helpful, thanks for reading!

It assumes you play marvel characters and doesn’t try at all to create ‘balanced’ characters, but its awesome and easy enough to hack to play whatever you want. It’s probably the easiest of the supers games I’ve seen to play or run. Fate can do supers, but it means you have to monkey with the system side of things more than i’d like to. Your mileage may vary.

I may need to take another look at it then. What makes it so easy to run? Thank you Tim! I did find that as well. But I appreciate the help

Hey, here's a thought: could you leverage some of the stuff in Dresden Files for superheroes?

Actually Steven I do own Marvel Heroic Roleplaying! I have the core and all the civil war books. I have just been on the fence about it. I may need to take another look at it then. What makes it so easy to run? Unlike fate, Cortex+ has a built in que for when the GM should impose consequences, when 1's are rolled on the player's dice. Fate forces you to be on the constant lookout for compels, where using distinctions negatively and rolling 1's provide the momentum for the economy in Cortex+. The movement of points is what makes these games really sing, and cortex can really empower players and GM's to get those plot points moving. Further, Cortex is mechanically much simpler than fate. You don't have to worry about assigning weapon values and the like to attacks, the dice do that for you ala the effect die (a die you keep from your pool separate than your total effect. The size of the die, not the number showing, effects the effect of the roll). Characters are likewise much easier to make, requiring only three distinctions instead of up to five aspects. Power sets are easy to make, and you don't need to worry about the likes of refresh or anything quite so crunchy.
