In the past couple of months I have been posting updates from my RPG blog to r/rpg. There have been a couple of comments that were worth responding to. However I feel that the community is basically a bunch of 12-13 year olds. Some of the comments read like a young person being able to cuss for the first time.
I understand that not everyone will agree with all that I post. I accept that and learn from the discussions.
I was wondering if anyone else has encountered the pre-teen angst.

I post over there as ThunderSack. I link my DoucheyDM articles over there as well.
For the most part, the people I've personally interacted with have been fine, but I've seen a lot of the childishness going on. There are quite a few people who will downvote you if you don't play the game they way they do.

It is kind of funny to read the tirades. At least I garner some degree of feeling, even if it is negative.

I don't post on Reddit, but I've read some stuff on there. I have found some interesting things, but I mostly just limit myself to original posts, as I've found that reading the comments usually just feels like a waste of time, haha.

I've enjoyed /r/rpg for over a year. I actually don't appreciate blog posts at all. I go there for discussion, not advertising. There is plenty of good discussion, and I have rarely had any difficulty with younger posters-- probably none at, in fact.
I mostly ignore posts by noobs. I don't care to talk about how to get into the hobby, and I ignore most of the D&D discussions unless it is at the level of the hobby itself or a question that is of interest beyond D&D. For example, most alignment discussions are garbage and so is any posting about how to play evil (i.e. psychopathic).
Reddit is an amazing thing in that you see what you're looking for.

Since I'm shallow, I'm loving /r/rpg right now. My Playing the Powerless article for doucheyDM is holding the #2 spot right now and getting me some decent link karma. I could give shit about the link karma itself, but it is nice to know people are reading.

I had thought that reddit would help me promote my blog. I have been told that what I am doing is coming across as karma or SEO whoring. I could give two shits about karma or SEO numbers. I just wanted people to go to my blog and post responses to things that they may find interesting. Hell I even liked it when they disagreed and posted. If someone takes the time to post a response then I answer.
I think I'll skip the reddit links and stick with other outlets. Google+ has started to provide me with some discussion.
