I enjoyed this analysis of Thanos as a character.

Didn’t see the video yet because I am at work but Thanos was really interesting.
Watching the movie I almost felt he was the protagonist of the story.

I loved it! But Thanos solution to the universes problems seemed really simplistic and while devastating just not very interesting. Genocide seemed a bit senseless for a being with phenomenal cosmic power...

It’s not genocide, it’s not wiping out any one genus, race or culture. It’s simply extreme population control, for the benefit of all cultures.

Logistically he fouled up a bit - because he killed more than 50% of the universe's population due to collateral damage. All those driverless cars, and spaceships and heart operations etc. Thing is which direction will they take with part 2. In the comic story arc Nebula gets the gauntlet and turns time back 24 hours ... Aaron

I've heard rumors they will indeed be going back in time all the back to the Battle of New York, but who knows about that.

Still seems like extremely simplistic assessment of universal problems. Feels like poor writing. Vast technologies accessible but “lose 50% all is well”... Fickle godhood I guess?

The "wipe out 50% of the universe" is a holdover from the comics, where it made more sense because Thanos' motivation was different.
Really muddles things up when you think of all the other ways the problem of overpopulation could be solved with limitless power other than kill half of all people.

Best Thing Ever: A brooding, grimdark, murderous, recently-reformed Hydra super-assassin forming a battle-buddy relationship with a combative talking raccoon.
To paraphrase Linkara... Comic book movies are weird...
