I was making an example character with some notes for my gaming group, and while I was considering what I should do with the trait points I'd gotten with his four problems, I realized something. Instead of trading in the trait points for three skill points, I could raise the Education stat and hypothetically get the three skill points while having raised a stat. That's also when I realized that that's why the trait point converts to three skill points (Education x 3)+n.
I figure there might be an unwritten rule that trait points used to raise Education don't grant the three skill points. At least there might be the unspoken understanding: "Don't munchkin our game." If not, that's a house rule that I would introduce into the games that I run. What do folks think? Did I miss a sentence and that's already mentioned?

Yup. You're the second person to mention this loophole. As written, yes, you CAN raise EDU and gain three "free" skill points. I'm looking at ways to close this loophole. I may raise the conversion rate, or I may add a rule that only stat points used for EDU allow you to gain skill points (I'm leaning toward the former).
