Wasn't really sure where to put this, but hey here will do. There is a really funny/bizzare TV program that was made here in New Zealand. Its called the Almighty Johnsons and it's an interesting take, similar to Jason's Demigods. The premise of the show is the norse gods flee the encroachment of Christianity by taking on human form and travelling with the original Skandinavian settlers to New Zealand. What happens if the God of cold is a Refridgeration engineer? Give it a try it does give some interesting ideas for GMs to play on in a modern times setting.

It's also, incidentally, a really good show.

That sounds somewhat similar to American Gods, actually.
Kinda spinning off of that idea, it could be really fun to have a game take place in a small town in Minnesota (or Wisconsin) where the Norse gods now live and attempt to "relive" the myths in the modern world or something. Maybe the Egyptian gods in Southern Illinois (also known as Little Egypt).
On the other hand, it could play out like that Disney Once Upon a Time series.

Only similar in that they are both Ancient Gods in Modern Times.
In AJ, they actually became humans. Their spirits and mantles reincarnate through their descendants.
The series starts with the youngest of the brothers having his coming of age ceremony, where they will learn who he was.
It’s much more comedic than AG, also.
