I am totally blaming lowkeyoh for getting this into my head, but I'm giving serious consideration to flying out to L.A. in 2019 just to attend one of the Strategicons. But which one? I'm hoping to get to hang with the most Happy Jack's crew and crowd as possible, so I know Gamex is the worst selection. But is there typically a larger HJ presence at Orccon, or at Gateway? (I'm leaning more toward flying out for Gateway on Labor Day weekend, because one of our local conventions is happening the weekend before Orccon.) Suggestions?

I went with Gateway when I made the trip out a few years ago as I'd always got the impression that it was the best attended by HJ people. Was totally worth it and I'd do it again if I could afford it.

Both are usually great. I won't make it to Orccon next year but I'll be at Gateway for sure.

I think Gateway may have a slight edge on HJ hosts attendance, but really it's close enough that you should base your decision on which time would be more convenient for you to travel.

I think like everyone said, maybe Gateway over Orccon? Either way, GAMES ON DEMAND will be there, and if you want to join our Strategicon RPG Games on Demand Slack, let me know with a DM of your email. Although it's "focused" on Games on Demand, it's more just a bunch of Strategicon regular GMs that converse on stuff... can be dead some of the time, but gets super active as the con draws near. And had been much more active since this last Gateway. (that goes for anyone... open invite)
