A number of things I think: Symbaroum will move to simultaneously releasing in both Swedish and English, rather than making Swedish first, then kickstarting the English translation PDFs will be available directly from the merged entity on Drive through rather than using Modiphious’ account. And most importantly, the two best creative teams in Sweden are working together!

I ask because while I am familier with Fria Ligan, I am not aware of Jarnringen. What have they made?

I ask because while I am familier with Fria Ligan, I am not aware of Jarnringen. What have they made? Järnringen made Symbaroum, a very beautiful dark fantasy game, with a system that I like less than the art - player facing, single d20 that does not tend to success (it feels). They are also the team that originally created Coriolis, and a version of Mutant that was the predecessor to Ar Nol, or Year Zero.

They are great at world building but not good at rules. As far as what the podcast says it's basically a merger to make it easier to continue creating rpg's that reaches the English-speaking audience. Ps Järnringen did amazing work with Mutant: UA, it's my favorite post apocalyptic setting (diselpunk, aristocracy, wild west with mutants and mosters) Pps. They discussed to change the name to "The free ring" but(t) realized that was a horrible idea.

Hmm, that sounds like a good merger. Is the Fria Ligan symbol a trillium? I used to pick those for my mother when I was a child, she didn't keep them around long.

Actually there’s an interesting story behind that logo. The original writer of Coriolis is Mattias Lilja. Lilja is Swedish for Lily (I think I was also told that the Lily was a symbol for soldiery in Sweden). So when Fria Ligan were setting themselves up, the Lily logo was in part a tribute to him. Mattias Lilja is part of Järnringen now, so through the merger is “returning” to the company that bears his crest.
