Orccon is still a few months away, but I wanted to remind folks about "RPG Games on Demand" at Strategicon.
This consists of an open gaming area where we normally run and play small press and indie RPGs. (As of this time, that area is on lower level LL, at the bottom of the escalators, on the way towards Open Gaming and D&D Adventure League.) Examples of games we've played include: Fiasco, Dread, The Quiet Year, Fall of Magic, Powered by the Apocalypse games (including Dungeon World and Monster of the Week), The Final Girl, For the Queen, Misspent Youth, and so on... We are also open to and have run games by GMs who want to playtest RPGs in development.
Currently, we place a number of GoD sessions on the convention schedule during similar start times for other scheduled RPGs. The actual games played is unknown until we gather up and see what folks are willing to run and play. Also, we start around 10 minutes after the scheduled start time, as it allows those folks who didn't get into scheduled games, or GMs whose games didn't fill up, the opportunity to come down and join us.
Although we have scheduled start times for organizing the bulk of our games, anyone is welcome to come down and use available tables for on demand RPG gaming, as long as you are providing an open table for people to join in, and are willing to use safety tools like the X-card. (I'm more than happy to show how this works.)
If you are interested in this space, also feel free to comment here and I can send you an invite to the Strategicon RPG GoD Slack, where we discuss and plan for this part of the convention! (You can also Direct Message me here; I need an email and I can send an invite.)
Questions? Please ask.
