Six of us sat around for several hours in silence (first time for that) pouring through 48 entries.
We have 11 prizes, so we designated First, Second and Third Places. And eight honorable mentions.
We're about to do into the studio to record the awards show.

Will that be tacked on to the next episode, or a separate release?

Well, It is supposed to be released Wednesday. So I am assuming that it will be a separate release. Btw, I am stoked to hear that episode

Best use of dentistry in an adventure...?! AWESOME. Thanks guys... I'm actually running a few of my players through Doctor Jack Vampire Hunter right now in a Savage Worlds game. They have yet to figure out the vampire angle.... *grins* Obviously, I didn't tell them the name of the adventure. And they won't be listening to the award show. Thanks!!

I really enjoyed the awards show. Hearing about the other adventures is really making me drool for that PDF collection. I do hope you'll do this again! The NPC competition sounds awesome too, but you can never have too many minimum-prep adventures on hand, IMVHO. As for the town of Slliv, which appears in my adventure, the name doesn't mean anything specific. The country where it's set is supposed to have a sort of Eastern European flavor, and there was already a town called Slläb--actually, that's where Sister Varya's abbey was. So I combined that with the Ukrainian city of Lviv, where an internet friend of mine lives, and got Slliv. And yeah, titles are tough! I had thought of calling my adventure "The Nun Who Knew Too Much" as a nod to the fact that I based the story loosely on The Man Who Knew Too Much, but decided that would be giving away too many clues for someone who had seen the movie. Great job on setting up this competition, and I can't wait to read everyone's contributions! P.S. I probably could've warned you that you would get half your entries at the last minute. I work in a college admissions office, and that's about the pattern we see as well. I always blamed it on our applicants being teenagers, but apparently not...

We probably will do it again next year with a few changes.
- There will be an absolute limit of 1 per person.
- Prizes will be in a digital format only, and there will only be two or three.
- I will figure some way to divide the adventures into three or four categories for judging.
- I may also try to recruit some listeners as judges as well.

I'll find out tomorrow when the kids and I walk down to the post office with a wagon full of boxes. I expect the domestic stuff with be reasonable.
The last thing I shipped internationally shipped from a mailboxes etc, so it was a little ridiculous.

You could solicit for the prizes. Maybe give out certain awards for certain things. For example, contact Steve Russell of Rite Publishing and say "Hey if you give us a copy of 'Book of Monster Templates' on pdf we'll give it to the best fantasy monster scenario." Or contact Steven S. Long about a pdf of a Hero book and offer that for "best superhero scenario." Basically having them sponsor a specific award. Just a thought.

I think, when setting up contesting for our show, I will learn from your wisdom and experience... Still, there is something fun about having so many winners. I've always felt that way about contesting in radio, when I was managing radio stations... people get excited about one or two big prizes, but only one or two people come out of it with anything to show for their excitement. Multiple smaller prizes means several participants who have something to show for their efforts. That builds a more rabid fan base. It was fun!
