Hi all! I've been a HJ listener for a couple years now and have helped spread the love around a bit to some of my gaming compatriots. I am primarily a GM, having really only been a player a few times in the past 20+ years since high school. I started when I was maybe 7 or 8 with the ol' Red Box and 1st Ed. AD&D. I'd say D&D is still what I primarily play, not due to any real love for the system itself (I tend to either ignore a lot of things and just adjudicate on the fly or homebrew the crap out of it) but rather just a shared and comfortable milieu for telling stories in. Outside of gaming, I am a professional security tester (physical and computers), an amateur blacksmith, I run a school for Medieval martial arts for 17 or so years now, do Medieval and Viking Age reenactments, and I have a penchant for shooting American Civil War firearms.

Hello all you Happy Jacks peoples!
I'm a new forum goer, long time listener, who finally remembered to sign up for the forums!
I've been playing games since about the age of nine or so. Everything from 2nd Ed D&D, to Werewolf, Vampire, GURPS, Shadowrun, L5R and everything in-between. I LARP, play Console games, DM / ST, PC game, board games... and the list goes on. Currently residing in Northern California.
Its great to have found such a large community of people who share in the same hobbies that I do! Looking forward to any future stories we create!

Hey there. I have been listening to the podcast for a few years now, and now I finally venture into the forums. I have been playing a lot of games over the years, from D&D to WoD and Traveller, to more obscure things. Right now I am mostly doing CoC, Traveller, and my own D&D houserules. I am kind of starved for playing actually. I live in a country where I don't speak the language well enough to play RPGs in, and although I found myself people to play with in English, we don't manage to meet up very often.

Have you tried Roll20? And what country do you live in? I have not tried Roll20. Unfortunately until recently my schedule was so irregular that I couldn't even try to get on some online game. I am in Poland.

Hi All! OutsideOfTheAsylum (Jeremy) here. I've been listening to the podcast for a year now. I'm diving back into gaming in a big way after having been to 3 cons in 2014. I have been gaming since high school in the early nineties, but since those games were few and far between, I'd say I've only put in a year's worth a steady gaming in my life. So my gaming outlook is still pretty young. Call of Cthulhu has been my favorite RPG for a while now, but I've really been digging the narrative focus games such as Fiasco and PsiRun. I live in Rock Island Illinois. Fortunate enough to have a few Jackers in the area who introduced me to the podcast at my return to gaming at XenoCon 2013 in Davenport, IA. Namely, Jimto, amongst others. I'm still working on kicking some habits of Douchebaggery in gaming (trying to win, min/max)...but fortunately my background in Improv Comedy and Theater have given me a leg up and a thick skin. My goal is to whore myself out to whatever group will have me. That's how this works, right? But has Jimto ever gamed with you in a nightclub?? Welcome aboard, laddie! 'Bout time you joined in the festivities! I'll game with damn near anyone in a nightclub.

gmkeros - it's not for everyone, but you could try Play-by-Post games.

Greetings, Happy Jackers. I have been a listener to the podcast for years but I have decided to join the forums.
I am in the public sector IT industry for work and I play RPG and board games. I am also a co-host a podcast (Back Seat Box Office) where we ramble about movies and tv.
I currently have two game groups. One is every other week and the other is a weekly game with some guys much younger than me and my son, who is a 13 y.o. murder hobo.

I missed this section and started posting all over the place without introducing myself. Whoops!
Greetings, all - I'm Wakefield (Mead), a PhD student in medieval literature at UCLA and fan of the 'cast since May 2016 (and fan of the late great Walking Eye and Idle Red Hands podcasts). I got into RPGs as a bright-eyed high school graduate, interested in running V:tM but persuaded to buy Savage Worlds with dramatic promises of nearly dead 1st-level rogues with broken ribs slaying red dragons with a single arrow from a short bow as long as the damage roll aced five times. A group of friends and I co-wrote and I GMed a SW homebrew game set on a Franken-planet constructed from chunks of several other planets grafted together by shadowy forces. The rest is history.
I RP with that same group of friends on Skype when we can and forum RP when we can't. We've tended toward World of Darkness and Scion but have run CoC and King Arthur Pendragon. I'm trying to break the habit of regularly playing characters that are variations on the same theme.
I live in the Little Armenia/Thai Town area of LA and would love to join any local games!

You're just pushing that one because it found you ex-patriate gamers in Japan.
