Listening to the episode right now. Into 29 minutes now. You guys should try Fate. But if you want Fate to be more GURPS-like, try Strands of Fate.

Its decided. Since you guys talked so much about Fiasco in this episode... I am writing a HJRPG playset. Consider it done. I will probably even run it at JackerCon.
"White Dragon" is actually an albino red dragon? EVIL GENIUS!

Phenomenal show! Get Bill's ass on the show more often and Jib less so.

Yikes! I love Bill and JiB equally...just no more FATAL caliper comments please. So there was some discussion of having a google drive set up to put Character PDFs into...this can pick up where INDEX CADS (my name for the unnamed villain contest) failed to become actualized. Then combining Sir Guidos request to have a GMs discussion section in the forums. We could have people and plot discussions in one "itty bitty forum space". Then to complete the unholy game planning triumvirate...Locations...locations...locations. Just listened to Postcards from the Dungeon Episode 101 GMs Real World Reference. Which sounds like a great resource! This is a real world location I've put in my desert based pathfinder campaign. St. Catherine's Monastery.

Get Bill's ass on the show more often and Jib less so. Ew. Social Skills 101 called, they have your Tact refund available.

Phenomenal show! Get Bill's ass on the show more often and Jib less so. Consider it done. Don't you go giving in to the masses Mr. JiB! by that I mean ONE not so nice individual...you are doing a great job on the show and your actual plays are a great teaching tool! This is something I think the forums could really support well. Each AP could include a list of GM notes and some quick thoughts about how you thought the game would go and some after thoughts on what went welll and what went meh... Mook showing all his game notes for his Grimjack game was pretty bad ass. That "Inside the GMs Studio" was very helpful to me and if you combine that with an Actual Play I think you have one great resource. P.S. Keep fuckin that chicken.

Stephen King once wrote that if you come up with a really killer line and base a story around delivering it, there's a good chance that it won't actually belong in the story by the time you get to the end. I think we can file "Cow Race," under that heading...

Phenomenal show! Get Bill's ass on the show more often and Jib less so. Hey hey, whoah boy. I'm guilty of takin' a shot at Jib's ... eagerness to express himself, once in a while. But that's just plain rude. Bill was great, but so was Jib. We love you all boys, and Kimmi, and Gina ... Gah, let me strike that out We love you ALL

Now, I've just picked up Nova Praxis, which I understand in based on Strands..., and it's the first set of Fate rules I've actually been able to read and understand, so that's a plus. And with this rule set Fate looks fun.

I quite likes me some Fate -- and it's all thanks to the various Strategicons, because I played in one totally fun Fate game; then another; and another. Bunch of different GMs, bunch of different genres, but all were a total blast. Particularly for a con one-shot, where I think the system shines even more than an ongoing campaign (though, to be fair - I haven't played in any ongoing Fate campaigns).
I squeed myself when I got the Fate Core PDF from Kickstarter! I've only had time to browse so far, but so far it really seems made of win.

Roleplaying during the combat:
I say this problem is one of the group, and not one of the game. Our group roleplays during combat all the time. My dwarven warden constantly mocks his opponents, usually by insulting their mothers. ^.^
We were fighting some demons the last session: "Yer mothers were Saints!!" "I heard they saved drownin' puppies!"
