my favourite was playing dungeon world with Hyve and turning my druid into a rock so the other guy could throw me at a monster, then turning into a snake when I landed, crawling up the other guy's pants, and biting him to poisony death.

There has only been 2 occasions where I was terribly concerned with inventory, once as a player and once as a gm.
1. I was playing a completely insane halfling warlock in D&D5. I mean completely insane. He was star pact, eldritch touched, delusional and had tremors. I had to keep very detailed notes on what his inventory was because I never bought anything on purpose. I would go into stores because my party did, and then throw money at the shopkeep while rolling dice to see what exactly Perrin had absently picked up. This was actually really fun because I ended up with a backpack full of THE WEIRDEST CRAP EVER. "Oh, the rogue needs a forgery kit? Um... (rummage rummage rummage) well, I have a bottle of ink and 6 sharp sticks, only one of which has fish on it, will that work?" "OH GOD THAT IS A VERY LARGE MONSTER ATTACKING US! I DUMP OUT MY 3 POUNDS OF STEEL BALL BEARINGS SO IT WILL FALL!" Perrin was so much fun I will miss him dearly.
2. Our entire story arc in a HAckmaster game hinged on us gathering not only the right list of stuff, but having parts of it at certain points in time (for, say, a ritual) and in certain combinations on certain persons. Since if the quest didn't go off as instructed, my party all died horribly in the screaming dark, they made absolutely certain to have the inventory straight.
Neither of these occasions really felt terribly onerous, probably because they were a player-led initiative and fit the tone and themes I and my group were looking at.
The truth of the matter is, I really don't think it's as... divisive or even important as so many of us seem to believe it is. Set the expectation early and consistently, if you're trying to apply it from the GM's side of the table, or let it flow naturally if the players think it's something t hey need to do.

Hlo!
As discussed last night on Discord, I have a playtest packet for some game called Gobblin the Goblin. If you'd like to play, I'll be running for 2 people next Thursday, 14 September 2017, probably around 9:30 EST/6:30 PST.
I am comfortable accepting up to 2 more people. Please reply here or on Discord if you're interested.

HazelnutMudslide it says in the description it's built by the guy who made Notch's house, but it's not the same one. Weird, I guess there's 2?

I am babying this more than ANYTHING ELSE I have ever babied. I worked my ankle harder than this, and I reduced my ankle to basically foot jell-o.

I have healed up almost all the skin now I have one small bit where it's still a scab but that's because they had to dig out a stitch. I call it my hand butt. It looked a lot more like a butt when i named it. I am just about perfectly normal for typing and all small, non-weight-bearing activities. I can theoretically lift up to 10 pounds in my right hand, but in reality i get a little squirmy and sore at about 7. I am back to being able to crochet! Although right now the real challenge has been finding a chair I want to sit in while i crochet and watch movies.

I'm reading some reviews that say it is an utterly misogynistic trash fire that should end Besson's career, and others that say it is a shining example of the new wave of intelligent, capable female heroes who *overcome* that kind of sexist bullshit, so... I don't really know wtf to think lol. That's what I meant about the questionable overtones. Like, ok so the "romance thread" is basically the one sexually harassing the other. It's tired, it's kinda not ok, but at the same time? It's hard to escape. But, as I said, even as I was like "whoa, that's incredibly misogynistic", I was like "oh cool space jellyfish oooh" I think this movie will in fact kind of herald a wave of indies, because to me it's fairly obvious Besson was trying to ride the knife edge and just failed sometimes. We'll see if the most angry among them will do better.
