So am I the only one that's been hoping for a few episodes now that Renjiro and Master Higo (sorry for spelling) were hooking up? I have imagined a moment of Nikoma and Ruki having a drinky moment with Higo and Higo lets slip his "women" problems as well. I can't help but think that would be an amusing moment with Dave, Tyler & Kimi reacting to it.
Perhaps my mind has been left to wander too much.

I don't want to come off as barking, but yeah, Investigation is a big catch all.
It's used for seeing things and to tell if someone is lying. (That's described in the sincerity description I think)
The thing that changes is whether you use perception or awareness, or what other trait would be more fitting.
I loved the scene with he crab and our "heroes" almost starting a war with the kuni and crab because a peasants inn was properly destroyed.
I wonder how things would have gone without a shugenja and you had no way to corroborate the kuni's actions. In a world where testimony means more than evidence, and the taint rarely leaves evidence it would have been fun to see you guys inadvertently start a battle, and possibly a war while being in the wrong.

Just for clarity, I won't be commenting anymore on this game. I don't want anyone to misconstrue any of my comments. I'm just happy people are playing L5R.

I think it's official. I'm pretty addicted to L5R. Thanks for that Stu n crew and most certainly Sir Guido too! (There's a poem there somewhere...) I became most aware of this when the Crane PCs started bad mouthing the Crab Clan a bit..I actually felt myself get kinda offended . Looking forward to hearing CADave sit in the big boy chair! I was imagining some various theme songs for his debut. By the way "Scorpaland!" Another CADave gem. Cuz, He's from Canada eh? (I realize that he is not but does a fairly amazing kanuck impression!) and I apologize for the weird version of this song. "Frrrrrom Pasadena It's the CADave show..." Randy Newmans "Good News" song.

Another great episode! I am beginning to wonder if the families pacifist nature is rubbing off on our heroes though? Definitely looking forward to the next episode, can't wait to see what happens next!

The best part of this last episode for me was when the Lion daughter dropped the foreshadowing on Tyler and his character didn't take the bait. The lack of doing something can be great role playing just as much as pro-activity. I know if I were in the same position, I (as a player) would have re-engaged the conversation. It totally makes sense for his character to just be like, "Yeah - Whatever."

Tyler: the creature you are speaking of is a Penaggolan 1. Comment away. I personally love knowing that we are doing certain things differently than other games. It will be a big help should I ever play in an L5R game not run by Stu, and no one in this game is actually upset (even if we grouse on the air, it's just for show). 2. Pangolin. Same beast, different name, apparently. If I said it wrong on the show, I TOTALLY blame the giant bottle of cider I had, as well as the fact that it was really warm in the room we played in.

Roukai wasn't about to start a dust-up though, since he had other obligations. I'd hate to have had to make Nikoma explain to Renjiro that Roukai got killed by half a dozen crab shugenja when he should have been protecting the Lion daughters.

It totally makes sense for his character to just be like, "Yeah - Whatever." This one is one of those moments that doesn't quite translate in podcast form. Nikoma had handed Roukai a hastily scrawled note that said "Renjiro was with Sugita in the gardens last night, beware your affections." I had no idea what was going on and what I was supposed to do. When she said that, I assumed she was talking about wanting to court Roukai, but suddenly was promised to Renjiro or something. Etiquette, courtly intrigue, and subtlety are not weapons in Roukai's arsenal. Next session, SOMETHING is getting its face smashed in.

How does one commit seppuku with a tetsubo??
I'm sure Roukai could find a way!
