Hello Happy Jackers!
I recently picked both Fate Accelerated and Fate Core. I've read through FAE and just starting Core. I'm thinking of using it to run all kinds of things. Maybe World of Darkness, L5R, Supers, Korean Historical Fantasy, and all kinds of others. But what have you done with it?

I've run a Fate Accelerated game for my group a few times. The PCs are a mixed group of magically-capable people, working for an obscure government agency. My original idea for the theme was Harry Potter Aurors meet X-Files. My gaming buddies, on the other hand, kind of made it into Quentin Tarantino presents Men in Black. A bit of a shift, but everyone had fun. Definitely a system I'll be going back to some time.

I'm getting to the end (maybe two more sessions) of a game involving shell-shocked WW1 vets thinking that people are being replaced by alien cannibal body-snatches (which of course, they are)
I also run FAE/Lego occasionally for my kids. Those games are kind of like the Lego movie, eg Giant Chima robots in the Wild West, so hard to describe what the campaign's about.

To date I've not tried too much with Fate, I've run Dresden Files which worked pretty well. I've also played in a short Accelerated game in a western setting mixed with vampires which was great fun, mostly as the GM was really good.

I ran a Pulp meets Cthuhlu game for the first Jackercon in FAE: Playtest / Actual gameI also tried to run an apocalyptic fantasy game in Fate Core, but found it exceedingly difficult. I much prefer FAE to Core.

Sounds awesome guys! I'll check those out Houndin, thanks. So far from my reading I like the looks of FAE better as well. I picked up core because of all the references that were in FAE.

I've been using it to try and run 7th Sea, though there have been some stumbles in my own misunderstanding of what fate works best at.

Oh how have you been stumbling? I'm interested becuase I'm thinking of doing an L5R hack for it.

Im playing it too sandboxy, which fate isnt really designed for. Like in 7th Sea and L5R there are lots of important npcs. Generally in Fate there are not nearly as many per scenario.
I definitely do not recommend using fate for L5R, because fate lacks the lethality L5R is known for.
I reccommend using Brennan Taylors Apocalypse World hack.

Oh gotcha. Yeah I need NPCs that really work.
True I do like the lethality.
I'll check that out thanks.

Samurai World Here's the latest updated stuff. Though knowing him, he's done a lot more that he hasn't updated. Though, that's probably because he's busy with Bulldogs. Some of the other problems that arose in my game, is mostly on me, and getting too into the role-playing with the PC's with NPC's and not getting them to the meat of the scenario i wrote. Like our last session, which everyone had a blast with, was very much like role-playing a 3 hour morning of the characters lives. There was drama and fun and tension, but it's the third session, and no one has any idea what is actually going on or what they are supposed to do. And that is all on me. Mysteries in Fate often don't work as well like they d in other systems, because at the heart of Fate, you can make an Investigation roll, and figure out the majority of the mystery.

Wow thanks for the link! Now I just need to get AW....
Yeah I'm still reading through core and finding that maybe I can't do L5R as well with it as I thought. Although I can a more anime style campaign would work, but not what I'm looking for...
I did pick up The Secrets Of Cats. So maybe I'll just run that to get over my fate itch.

Let's see here, what have I run in Fate (Core)
Eclipse Phase Gritty street level fantasy Gothic horror Steampunk Weird West 60's themed modern British super spies High fantasy (Semi) Historical vikings Space opera
I'm sure there are others as well, but that's what leaps to mind.

I'm using the Save Game Worlds of Adventure to run a Captain N: The Game Master scenario at 1d4Con this year.

I used FAE to run a very loose Halloween game, where the characters turned into their costumes. I had read the book before, but never ran it. And only one other person in the group had even heard of it before. All I required was that they have their costume picked out, and we built the characters as we played.
