yeah, so it's good news. I'm agreeing with Stu/Stork on this one.

Huzzah for survival! But if Albert doesn't dial up his Humanity score soon, he'll be on his way to NPCdom. :/ That, or following a Path...

He's mentioned before about picking up a Path. Right now he's at 4 Humanity, which means just picking up one point is going to run him eight xp, which is nothing to sneeze at. He just blew ten on Animalism.

That's true - it's just that the Camarilla strongly discourages adopting Paths, right? Although I suppose the Mote isn't a card-carrying Camarilla principality, and Albert is hiding out there anyway until Daniel calls off the Blood Hunt. I was just wondering how that would change his relationship with Adrienne et al.

I always felt that the Cammy's didn't officially sanction the practice of paths, unless your a noddist then they want you dead, as they are defined by their attempted connection with humanity. Meaning that a Cammy vampy can be on a path but there are very few who preach openly which makes finding a teacher a pain in the ass. Though his most likely path, Feral Heart, would exacerbate the loner goodness of the Gangrel and not really give him reasons to strengthen ties to the coterie.

Humanity helps with keeping the Masquerade which is why it appeals to the Camarilla so much, though it's likely many elders have found their way onto a Path.
Outside of Elders, Paths are mostly for the Sabbat, and even among the Sabbat, Paths are still kind of rare. Most Sabbat are still on the path of Humanity, they're just really low.

Stork and I are discussing Paths now. I've read through the procedure to adopt a path in-game, and I'm more scared for Albert (with Stork's rolling) than I was when he was facing werewolves.
He may end up a non-sentient bone chewer if he rolls the way history suggests.

So, as I'm listening to the start of Mote 24 I was hit by a strange but hilarious idea. The coterie has ghoulphins that patrol their waters around the island. This is a genius idea that would piss off several things that "exist" in the world, one of which might even suprise the Probie. Namely, Rokea or were-sharks.
Now yes, the coterie is dealing with several non-Vampire threats (which is honestly one of my favorite parts of your game Stu) so adding another is just gravy, but think about the difficulties they could have and the reaction that Skully would have to learning that Were-sharks freaking exist!

The two best paths for Albert would be the Path of the Feral Heart or The Path of Harmony
I would be just as concerned about Scully's humanity however: his double diablerie dropped his humanity by 2.
Diablerie *is* always an automatic loss since, well, you devour someone's immortal soul to increase the potency of a curse inflicted by God.

Really.
So diablerie always causes a humanity hit? Hmm. That might change some things.

I did wonder about that. After the early Diablerie episode I thought everyone that partook was just roleplaying their lost humanity very well. Stork kept being Stork while everyone else started talking about murdering families.
