I listen to alot of different podcasts...
I'm not sure if this is a sign of your quality, their lack of quality of my own fight with clinical depression...
But I'd rather listen to some of your episode 2 or 3 times before listening to new episodes of some other podcasts...
Work SUCKS!!

The mix of humor and useful information and the broad range of game systems discussed were what brought me to the cast originally. I still routinely listen to the cast 2-3 times each week, well at least the ones that I'm not on.

I'm resisting the urge to start over....
But I've listened to the past couple of weeks episode at least twice each...
I'm loving the humor! It's one of the only things getting me through a rough patch at work...

I actually started over, too. I tried a lot of other podcasts, but very few have kept my attention. I do listen to Fear the Boot and Postcards from the Dungeon, but I've never had the urge to actually go through the backlogs of either.

The main problem with going back and listening from episode 1.... I want to comment on sh!t that was said in August of 2009!!!! So I would consider the podcast from August 2009 the poorer for your lack of comment - meaning, comment away. (Just give your comment some context.) No one will remember exactly what was said in the past because memory is a reconstruction of the past based on present knowledge so, the point: opinions can change and conversations are always evolving, which welcomes voices at the moment they're heard. Revisiting old topics might prove surprising especially if opinions previously expressed have been ameliorated (or not) by time and experience. The dynamic podcast format makes it unlike the forum reference library model or the blog. I would not fear Thread Necromancy in podcasts, especially with a group so knowledgeable, passionate and happy about the topic.

I love the back-log, there is only a handful of episodes I've not heard, and some I've heard more than once.
The one thing I don't like is a lack of documentation of content. There is much good stuff in there, but finding a specific topic is hard. Someone with Ass-Burgers (can anyone name that episode referance?) should listen through them all and write down all topics covered in which episodes.

I agree with Taley, show descriptions could be better... I've taken to renaming the files on iTunes with the subject and time stamp of the bit I like.

Yeah HJRPG has definitely ruined me for some podcasts. I used to have quite a queue of rpg related podcasts to listen to on my daily commute. Now I have 3, and the other two are really barely hanging on by a thread these days. I find too many rpg/geeky podcasts have a tendency to analyze their subject matter to the breaking point. When I listen to a podcast about gaming I want to hear idea, tips, fun anecdotes, and overall enjoyment of the hobby. I don't want to hear people wax philosophical about why Burning Wheel is the penultimate of gaming and cite their so called concrete evidence as to why their way of gaming is better. Nor do I want to hear four people around a mic analyze the "group template" and how it interacts and how it is absolutely necessary for a game to progress. I also don't give two shits about how these three feats, plus this class ability, tied with that skill can make the most b0rk3n! combat guy ever!
Pierce my eardrums with a mechanical pencil first, before making me listen to that shit. The cultured sounds of the HJRPG crew LAUGHING, cajoling, and talking about the fun parts of games and how to keep them fun... thats what I want to hear.
