joecrak I'm looking forward to FFG dice Rokugan, too! Which is basically heresy over on the FFG L5R forums 😂 I think it will be a very different kind of game with FFG dice mechanics, for one character death will be less likely. If they do a blend between the WFRP3E wound mechanics, and the Star Wars dice. Death will be more common than you think. Plus those wound cards had some really cool permanent wounds that R&K could never account for, like permanently losing an arm, eye, leg, instant death. Star Wars dialed it back a bunch because that's more on brand for Star Wars. The main characters were pulp heroes. Plus, while exploding dice are fun and all of that, stripping down the stances, skills, skill level bonuses, the use of raises, and what you can and can't use void points for would be wonderful for me. Of course, there's also the flip side of exploding dice and the legality in the game. I've seen characters die in their first session before even getting a turn to do something. It's a tangled web. Like, on one hand, I love the possibility of rolling a 75, on the other hand I hate when I call a raise or two, and miss the final result by 1, after spending void points, and then nothing happens because I missed. Granted, that can still happen with the FFG dice, but if I miss and there's threat left over, or even a despair, then I'm cool with it, cause something still happens. Soundboard can die in a fire, unless you add Kevin Sorbo shouting disappointed. That would be acceptable.

Joecrak is a heathen of soundboard worship! He must be punished!
I tried running ffg Star Wars and just hated it. I think I will stick to roll and keep for L5R even if that means staying with fourth edition.

We all like what we like. It might be a bit easier if they had an engineer dedicated to being in charge of it, and had clips I enjoyed more, but it being a live show, and trying to stay on topic, and add to the conversation, and then searching for the clip they want to play in the moment? It usually falls flat for me.

So outside of what I most often hear as the common complaint, the figuring out of the symbols, are you able to express what about it annoyed you, and made you dislike it so?

It was a combination of figuring out the symbols and then figuring out what to do with them.
You take strain while you succeed seems so - bleh but I hate to be told that every minute of a combat encounter I need to be narratively inventive.

Hi there.
Have you stopped to consider that there are children in Africa who don't have enough Soundboard in their life?
For ten cents a day you can pipe Charles Nelson Riley chuckles, movie quotes, and Kimi sneezes to a child in need.
Won't you give the gift of the Soundboard to those in need?

The soundboard is really the only good thing about the podcast, but it's better when CADave is in control. Maybe they can figure out a way to have him trigger the soundboard remotely when he can't be there in person.
That would be almost as good as having the Angry GM on again.
