Where might a curious DM listen to this Chris Perkins? I'm interested in getting Storm Kings Thunder myself! Sorry, I've just never heard of that podcast.

My group tried out Warhammer Fantasy 2nd edition recently. I absolutely love the world, but the system is just painfully bad. I wrote a blog post all about it, if you 're interested... goluptiousgeek.wordpress.com/2017/02/21/warhammer-fantasy-the-best-and-worst-roleplaying-game-ive-ever-played/I'm wondering if anyone has thought of, or had success with running this world with a different system...say, GURPS? If you have, what did you do? If you have any thoughts, what would you recommend? (Yes I'm aware of the 3rd edition, I don't like it either)

Our group is always looking for new players, as we have trouble maintaining a consistent group size with how busy some of us are. We play pretty irregularly, so you'll have to get used to that. We're located in Springfield Missouri. We're currently playing L5R and hopefully D&D 3.5/Pathfinder in the near future. We're always looking for new systems as well.

Call me a heathen, but I have to be impressed with a non handheld console from Nintendo after game cube. Third party supporter gives this ab advantage over say...the wii, but so do the competing consoles. I'll be staying with my PlayStation. I'm glad other people are excited, because it does sound pretty cool, but if I bought it I know I'd regret it.

After having GM'd l5r for about a year, I can tell you the two books I use the most are the corebook, and great clans. I don't use enemies of the empire too much, because my players are usually pitted against other samurai who could easily be player characters, whom I have stated up myself. I have pdfs of many of the other books, but rarely use them. The other resource that I frequent is the l5r wikia. There is no easier way to find lore, so I highly recommend it. Hope your game goes well!

I've found that most if the house rules I need to implement come from the need to make the game a little more playable for my group. Samurai not dealing with their own money is one that I had to throw out. I'm not going to roleplaying two npcs haggling over the price of a wooden box in front of my players. I recently wrote a blog post about house rules, specifically in l5r. I included the descriptions of the house rules that my group uses. goluptiousgeek.wordpress.com/2017/02/13/house-ruling-rpgs/
