Not around here. I think there used to be one guy who had a 3d printer who would rent out time one it, but I can't find him anymore.

The UPS down the street has one. I brought in a small project I needed printed for work and laughed hysterically when they told me the price, I honestly thought he was joking. His response : "I know."
30 bucks a cubic inch...

The next generation of Home 3d Printer is DPS 3D Printing, that's why the SLA Printers (like the Form1 clones) are finally becoming reasonable in price. However DPS Printers are even easier to home build as the use HD Projectors as their light source for curing the resin. There is also the alternative development stream using high powered LED's as a 'projection plate' to cure a whole layer at once with the theoretical precision of both SLA and DPS printers: Here is one made for very small builds, though I think a 2nd gen is worth waiting for to iron out the wrinkles and improve the resolution.. The big SLA's used by Shapeways are a long way from Home use, mainly due to these companies being very protective of their proprietary tech - the Form1 SLA was delayed because of a legal challenge regarding the way it was using lasers to cure resin being claimed to be too close to the industrial products. For the record the guy running Makerbot is a total litigation happy arsehole whose constant interference in the market has delayed the development of Home 3D Printing by years. He wants every home to have a 3D Printer provided it's only an overpriced Makerbot . . . there's an interesting documentary about it on Netflix Aaron

Name of said documentary? " Print the Legend" (I'm guessing -- I'm at work and couldn't check Netflix).

Name of said documentary? " Print the Legend" (I'm guessing -- I'm at work and couldn't check Netflix). That's the one - the Makerbot reads Steve Job's biography and suddenly he trying to run Makerbot like a poor mans Steve Job's with only half the charisma. Loads of the original Makerbot development team leave and form smaller companies of their own: will Makerbot does it's damnedest to crush them (bit like TSR in the bad old days) Aaron

To Benji on your PbtA idea:
I can only imagine that they are cursed items. I could not reasonably make a character that buys into your ludicrous premise. Nothing like that could ever happen. Disbelieve!

Disbelieve! I find your lack of Sketchers disturbing. Come to the Dark Side. They're having a buy one pair, get a second pair 1/2 off sale. New outlet open at Tosche station next to Power Converter Depot. Fear is the path of the barefoot. Fear of Sketchers leads to anger. Anger leads to fucking hate of Sketchers. Hate of Sketchers leads to high pitched yelling! You may not believe in the Sketchers. But they believe in you!

Stu Venable "What if legend of the five rings is a postapocalyptic game and everyone's carrying the pathogen and that's why they have to cremate the bodies or they reanimate?" (paraphrasing) Dude, you played this as Halfworld in college, and the answer is that would-be Rokugan (Japan) already cremates their dead so they're the least affected by the zombocalypse.
