This is a thread for us RPG/Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Horror/Steampunk geeks to fantasize about our dream settings. Is there a property or franchise out there that doesn't have an RPG yet but really wish did have one? For me, it would be Pellucidar, the home of Edgar Rice Burroughs' At the Earth's Core books. It has high adventure, eerie locations, ancient mysteries, prehistoric monsters and people, ape-men, sapient psychic pterodactyls, and... STEAMPUNK! Yeah, if you haven't read the book(s), by the end of the second book Pellucidar had a steam railroad, clockworks, factories, and telegraph lines (including one to the surface world). It is a land of perpetual daylight... except for the depths of caves (naturally) and one odd place in particular. The Land of the Awful Shadow, a place beneath the Pendant World, a moon-like planetoid suspended between Pellucudar and the burning core. I think Pellucidar would be an awesome RPG setting. You could have people defending a steam train from a rampaging T-Rex, with cave men and jungle lords as allies. How cool is that? Savage Worlds could do this setting without breaking a sweat!

My favorite setting is the swedish Mutant:UA setting, it takes place a few hundred years after the Mutant Year Zero.
Diselpunk, mutants government conspiracy thst hunt Psychers (and evil(?) psyker conspiracies).
It also has great countries surrounding Sweden, I'm hoping for this in english from Frialigan in the future.

As a fan of the films, I'd like to see an official treatment of a Pirates of the Caribbean RPG. Sure, there are tons of pirate-era games out there that you could use to create one (and I already did that using True20), but an official RPG setting would be cool.
Again, Savage Worlds would be my weapon of choice. In a way, they sort of already did a PotC game... They have Pirates of the Spanish Main, based on that "constructable card game" of ship combat. Just using that book, and adding magic form the core book, and *boink* (scientific progress goes boink, after all), you have a PotC game.

The Borderlands setting would be fun with random loot and raid bossses.
Just remember that respawn stations are not cannon.
I don't know what system would work best.

One Punch Man would be interesting but that could work an many systems if you just do a overpowered character.
Sorry for spamming the comments ;-)

The Land, from the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever. I think that would be a cool place to adventure in, when Covenant isn't running around making a mess of things.

I guess one could do this with Iron Claw, but the setting of the Spellsinger novels could be fun.
I mentioned this show in the "Whacha Watchin'" thread... I'd also like to see an RPG set in the world of Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrel. I think that would be awesome! (If you have Netflix, do check it out... It's fantastic!)

Jonathan and Mr. Norrel would be awesome! I have only read the book and hope to watch the series at some point. I am hoping for a Korean Historical Fantasy. Something like this en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseon_X-Files or even like L5R kind of thing but more focused on Korea. I may just have to write one....

I haven't read the book so I can't speak as to any departures from it in the show adaptation, but I really liked it. Then again as I also mentioned in that other thread that's part of an era and genre that appeal to me.
