I vote Venture Bros, James Bond, and Vikings. Although I do love straight up pulp(Not in orange juice) too.

The Hero System book has this chart to show point values vs competency. Character Type | Total Points | Matching Complications | Maximum Points Per Complication | Normal | | | | Standard Normal | 25 | 15 | 15 | Skilled Normal | 50 | 25 | 20 | Competent Normal | 100 | 30 | 20 | Heroic | | | | Standard | 175 | 50 | 25 | Powerful | 225 | 50 | 25 | Very Powerful | 275 | 50 | 30 | Superheroic | | | | Low-Powered | 300 | 60 | 35 | Standard | 400 | 75 | 40 | High-Powered | 500 | 75 | 40 | Very High-Powered | 650 | 100 | 50 | Cosmically Powered | 750+ | 100+ | 50+ |
With the explanation of each as: Normals: The everyday inhabitants of the world; Heroes: The best people a typical society can produce; and Superheroes: Immensely powerful individuals the likes of which don’t exist in the real world. For me, it would seem a level 1 D&D character would fall between competent normal and standard heroic. I have not converted from D&D to Hero before and I have not read through Fantasy Hero, so take it with a grain of salt. -Robert

I sync via itunes and listen from my phone. I don't know if I would ever download an app to listen to a podcast when itunes makes it so simple.
I wouldn't have a problem with advertising as long as it is something that interests me (selfish, I know). I will generally fast forward through advertisements for Squarespace, Adam & Eve, audiobooks, etc.

I think that would be incredibly fun, but it might be better to allow for more creative uses for the bennies. Something I've been doing with bennies is allowing them to change the game world for the player (within reason). When I use that rule I also give out bennies more often to compensate for the additional use. It would seem doing something like that would shots could really make for a crazy game that might eventually fall apart, but it sure would be one hell of a ride.

Generally one of the additional nice things about a sound board app is that it will play the file immediately vs the time it can take for a computer or music player on a phone to start playing. Normally the second or two it can take to play isn't a big deal, but when you are right in the moment trying to hit that explosion mp3 it can lose a little something if you have to wait.

I used Levelator initially when we started, but eventually equipment and knowledge allowed no longer requiring it. It really is awesome when something just sounds off, but it is no replacement for a good quality raw file. The better the file you put into it, the better quality you get out of it.

If you are recording directly into the computer I would recommend using Reaper. Audacity has given me a strange buzz when recording before. You can an evaluation version of Reaper that last indefinitely. And as Stu said, a mixer is a must when you start adding more mics.
