I don't know how you guys do it man, I really don't. I mean I'm not even playing and seeing like 10 posts about what you're doing wrong makes me want to go jump off a bridge. I've come to realize there are 2 types of people in the world, those that go on vacation and tell you all the bad parts of it first, then those that tell you all the awesome things first. Both groups had a good time, it's just how they tell you. People often feel they need to tell the hosts all they do wrong. Not because they see it as rude, but because they just are trying to honestly help. Some could see that as being rude or mean. And you can tell it's a sore point for a couple of the hosts since they bring it up more and more. But I think most are used to it. i don't know if it's right or wrong, but I think Stu and the crew are just happy we interact about it at all. If we all just enjoyed silently this forum would just be the "What are you eating" thread. Im not belittling your opinion, just giving another perspective. I actually agree with you. But... I like the "what are you eating thread"...

Thanks guys! Glad you liked my bombshell in the last game. I wanted to see how the night before Elysium played out before deciding which way to go, but it was fun picking what turned out to be Stu's least expected option. Appreciate the notes on rules. I do have my powers on cheat sheets, but by necessity they don't include all the little details so sometimes we get things wrong or have to look them up anyway. I am by no means an expert on rules, so fair play to you all for your vast knowledge! On Humanity/Diablerie: don't worry, I did take the hit, and I had a plethora of Humanity to start, so Riley's still not that bad off. Part of that Humanity loss is why she keeps doing it; once you've diablerized one enemy in a time of war (desperate times/desperate measures and all) it seems like less of a big deal and you care less. She'd justify this latest one to herself because he was under a blood hunt anyway, trying to mess up her Elysium (DO NOT mess with a Toreador's fancy party planning unless you wanna get eaten or have your skull turned into a purse), and literally everyone was plotting to murder/usurp her so a little extra power couldn't hurt. About RPing the humanity changes, just because Riley isn't out doing monstrous things doesn't mean she hasn't changed as a result. I've chosen the more detached route for her: you'll notice she's using her powers to manipulate humans and kindred alike more often. This isn't just out of necessity of being in charge. She used to care more about other people's autonomy and the consequences of mentally subjugating them, as her humanity has lessened, the usefulness of these powers is starting to outweigh their value as sentient beings. More ghouls, more mind-control, more amassing armaments and contingency plans. She's still presenting the diplomatic, amiable Toreador facade, but behind the scenes she's a lot more calculating. Hence the bombshell

For Fun: For each character what lv of Humanity should they be? (except Albert since he's has a path now)
Hierarchy of Sin — Humanity Humanity Moral Guideline p.312 10 Selfish thoughts 9 Minor selfish acts 8 Injury to another (accidental or otherwise) 7 Theft 6 Accidental violation (drinking a vessel dry out of starvation) 5 Intentional property damage 4 Impassioned violation (manslaughter, killing a vessel in frenzy) 3 Planned violation (outright murder, savored exsanguination) 2 Casual violation (thoughtless killing, feeding past satiation) 1 Utter perversion or heinous acts
Humanity 7 Most human beings have Humanity ratings of 7 or so, so vampires at this level of Humanity can usually manage to pass for mortals. Vampires with 7 Humanity typically subscribe to “normal” social mores — it’s not acceptable to hurt or kill another person, it’s wrong to steal something that another person owns, but sometimes the speed limit is just too damn slow. The vampire is still concerned with the natural rights of others at this stage of morality, though more than a little selfishness shines through.
Humanity 6-5 People die. Stuff breaks. A vampire below the cultural human norm has little difficulty with the fact that she needs blood to survive, and she does what needs to be done to get it. Though she won’t necessarily go out of her way to destroy property or end a victim’s life, she accepts that sometimes that’s what fate has in store for some folks. Though not constantly horrid, Kindred at this stage of Humanity are certainly at least mildly unpleasant to be around. Their laissez-faire attitudes toward others’ rights offend many more moral individuals.
Humanity 4 The vampire begins an inevitable slide into urge indulgence. A Humanity of 4 indicates that killing is acceptable to this Kindred, so long as his victim is “deserving.” Many vampire elders hover around this level of Humanity, if they haven’t adopted some other moral code. Destruction, theft, injury — these are all tools, rather than taboos, for a vampire with Humanity 4. The vampire’s own agenda becomes paramount at this point, and screw whoever gets in the way.
Humanity 3-2 The lives and property of others are irrelevant to a Kindred this far gone. The vampire likely indulges twisted pleasures and aberrant whims, which may include any manner of atrocity. Perversion, callous murder, mutilation of victims, and wickedness for its own sake are the hallmarks of a Kindred with very low Humanity. Few vampires maintain ratings this low and lower for very long — their damnation is all but certain at this point. Physical changes show up at this stage; while not hideous in the sense of the Nosferatu or certain Gangrel, the vampire acquires a pallid, corpselike, and noticeably unwholesome aspect.

Riley:4 Asa:3 Layla:7 Esmeralda: 10! (joking) 5 I *think* I'm hovering at 4. Admittedly I don't have my character sheet with me at the moment though. Might in fact be 3. I'll have to check.

She should be 3. At 3 she shouldn't drop anymore unless she starts acting more "inhumane" To roll Humanity you need to do something below your Humanity score. If you fail, you can't justify to yourself what you did, the "beast" take more hold into your soul and you lose a point of Humanity. If you ever drop to 3, I suggest you do like Albert and switch to a path immediately or the beast will take over at 0 and you lose your character.

I got the intent of your post, it just made me try to remember what it was actually at out of curiousity. Asa is very much in the danger zone right now.

Poor Esa, You need to start to be more humane or the beast will take hold of your soul. Albert should have told you this but since he himself failed that path he is a bad teacher for you. Typical gothic story.

Typical gothic story. Absolutely. Asa was already pretty far down the rabbit hole when they found her, and Albert is on his own path and hasn't really invested in her, which is only driving her further down a route she may not be able to come back from. Honestly, as a role player, if that's what ultimately happens (Asa becoming nothing more than a beast) then it's what happens. I'll be curious to see though, especially since she just recently made some new friends(?) for pretty much the first time ever.

The werewolves?! Lol. Danger! Danger, Will Robinson! Esmeralda could be her friend They taught her how to ride a motorcycle, so that's pretty cool. But seriously, Asa has some psychological issues that would make them a draw for her. Their approach with her has also sparked something related to her Nature which trumps her Demeanor. Also, hard pass on Esmerelda. Mac the player loves that character, but Asa despises her.

Since she became so important and some menial task wouldn't be appropriate to do, here's a trick. Has long as you paid for a minion with xp on your character sheet you can play that (0 xp) minion and Riley still gain the xp since it is her "power/ability" that she is using. Nice way to make an "immortal character" too. A puppetmaster.
