You can also buy back humanity with XP, if you don't want to go down a dark road.

Holy shit it's Albert! Wait! Did he shave his pornstache? (Also, where is that from? I could swear I've seen that before.)

That's why I balk when everyone's like "just get on a Path". It's like it's some kind of "get out of making-bad-decisions-and-becoming-a-murderhobo free card".

The option to "just get on a Path" kinda reduces the drama of loosing your humanity (and Humanity) in the first place, it feels too much like gaming the system for me. If anything, I feel like Paths (like the Sabatt in first edition) should pretty much be restricted to NPCs to show how monstrous and inhuman vampires can become if they're not careful.

I like playing characters to their conclusion, even if it might be hard for me as a player. (Granted, I think the drama of killing a character for the sake of killing them is no fun either.) I'm actually excited to explore where Asa is going and I can safely say she's unlikely to pull herself back out of it without interference.

I'm actually excited to explore where Asa is going and I can safely say she's unlikely to pull herself back out of it without interference. Playing a character in a consistent manner to whatever end is definitely the way I like to do it. I'm not bothered about my character dying if it's fair, or if the character's own direction lead them that way. Interestingly, in the very first Vampire game I played, my character ended up going gradually insane and gradually less human as time went on. I eventually realized that there was no logical way to pull him out of his nose-dive so I just kept going with it and eventually ended up doing something really messed up and nasty that made the vampire authorities take notice and decide to have my character killed since he was too much of a threat to the masquerade and to everyone around him. It just conveniently happened that one of the other player's character had died in a battle against a werewolf right around that time so he made an Assamite as a temporary character so that he could play the character that was hired to kill mine. So we got to take care of business within the group. After the deed, which I almost survived in spite of his character having been purposefully designed to kill mine, we both made new characters and continued on with the game.

The obvious problem with that is you play a 0 xp character that will very probably die with a team of 100 xp So build a good 0 xp fighter style vamp child Toreador, competent ghoul or another vampire with a good reason why they would serve YOU. How about her/him ? Trained to be a martial artist in Asia. Came to America, loved the excitement, got broke, applied for modeling, caught your attention, asked your prince permission to turn him. You need to choose a specialty for Dexterity and Appearance and you need to spend 6 xp to raise brawl to lv 4 Oh, yes I forgot! Add Riley's super def 2 cloth armor

You guys are wrong about paths. This is bad. Worst than Humanity P.313 • Paths are utterly inhuman. Players wishing their characters to adopt Paths of Enlightenment are in for extremely demanding roleplaying experiences. These are codes of immortal ethics that Kindred have spent hundreds of years, if not millennia, studying. It’s fine and good to have a Lasombra character following the Path of Night, but the player will have to devote an enormous amount of energy toward understanding how that character really thinks. • Paths shock conventional moralities. Paths use game systems similar to Humanity, but the codes that constitute these ideas emphasize such alien ideals that mortal characters observing an adherent is likely to be put off. Some codes espouse killing, while others cannot be bothered with it. Indeed, some codes are so selfish that even thinking about helping others constitutes a moral failure. These Paths are here to illustrate how utterly inhuman and removed the Kindred are from humankind, and to give them spiritual protection from the talons of the Beast. Use the Paths when the story or character demands them, not to free the characters from penalties for wanton murder or perversion. StrangeLikeThat RudeAlert sbloyd You guys should read the whole thing

I think the issue is those are first time characters and were build separately without consulting each other so the team would work perfectly. Building a team of vampires is difficult due to their aggressive nature. The team concept must be carefully built first then the actual characters
You should have a discussion about that during one of your RPG podcast session
Team concept before character building

Don't get me wrong. I love current Mote of Sin but that kind of story is a gothic story and they always (and must) end in tragedy. A new volume of Mote of Sin could be written and not as a gothic style, more Hollywood type instead.
