Players should not be able to detect vampires by smell. Even werewolves need gifts to do that. The vampire must a least do something abnormal like smell blood on him (or very low humanity or path)
What I would do is the player must score higher than the vampire humanity(path)-1 score. Something for bat super hearing to hear the person's heart is still beating Same thing for animal or devices that detect body temperature.

Stu, initiative is 1d10+Dex+Wits+Celerity Samantha and Jessie should have had a higher score Players should write their needed skills besides their powers and attacks They should write their basic attacks in weapons chart (claws, bite, etc.)

Riley, use your Awe power like a Siren and sing (performance) to charm unseen enemies. Since all kidnappers were men and you were all female your song could be "Men do not harm us Men come out peacefully Men you do not need your weapons Men, I'm the Prince of this island and must obey me" Watch out not to say something like "Men we won't attack you" otherwise the other players might be charmed not to attack the men

In our games, we introduce dragonbreath round They do half damage but fire (that mean aggravate for vampires) since UV is not canon Since fire also cause Rötschreck only the strong willed vampire can use them Botch can be disastrous What we did is a botch of 1 drop the gun and must roll Rötschreck or you can't pick it up until the end of the scene. Botch of 2 the gun break Botch 3 it does gun damage to you Botch 4+ add damage

at 1:17 Samantha need to loose 1 humanity for her diablerie I think her humanity is now so low that she has social dice penalty and that is bad for a Toreador If so she would have to think about her position as Prince of the Camarilla and/or of her choosing a path isntead of Humanity They are playing Camarilla vampires not Sabbat or Anarchs. Seem the game is going toward Anarchs. That would be an interesting turn of event.
She could have killed the vampire without diablerize him

To add to this deluge of corrections: Specialties (Sidebar on P.96): You're not supposed to re-roll 10s when you have a relevant Specialty, 10s just count as two successes each. The re-roll thing was from previous editions, they streamlined it in V20. Protean 4 - Shape of the Beast: The transformation takes 3 turns to complete unless the vampire spends extra blood points to reduce the time by 1 turn per extra blood points. This doesn't generally matter out of combat or whenever time isn't an issue but when time does matter this should come up. Humanity (This is a big one Stu Venable, Kimi, redpandroid, StrangeLikeThat): It's really not supposed to be just some casual resource that you "spend" for Diablerie until you run out. It's a REALLY BIG DEAL. It represents your literal humanity, the less of it you have the more monstrous you become, both psychologically and physically, though mostly psychologically. There is definitely supposed to be a strong role-playing element to it also. Stork played Albert's decent as him becoming more and more of an asshole, that is definitely one approach, but others can just become bestial, monstrous, or obsessed with blood to the near exclusion of all other pursuits. It also gets progressively harder to pass for human when your humanity erodes (big surprise right?). Low Humanity vampires don't really think about the basic human things like blinking, pretending to breathe, flushing their skin to look rosier and warmer, moving occasionally instead of sitting perfectly still like the corpses they are, and all sorts of other small things that humans do naturally but which vampires have to dedicate some amount of conscious attention to. For those concerned with looking pretty and fitting in among humans, this should be a big deal. I highly suggest all the diablerists on the team have a quick look at Chapter 7 - Morality. Especially the Bearing sidebar on P.310. Also the various Effects of Humanity of P.311. And the Downward Spiral P.311-313. All in all, you guys have been playing pretty casually with Humanity and that's really missing out on a big part of the game's main focus. To give a comparison, it's kinda like playing L5R and ignoring all that pesky Honor and Glory and Bushido Code thingy stuff. You can certainly do that if you wish, but be aware that you're throwing out a big central chunk of what the game is about. Also, Diablerie as a whole is pretty much a BIG FUCKING DEAL!!! Like seriously, you are devouring someone's frikin SOUL! That is far far worse than murder. It's pretty much the ultimate sin among vampires and while it might not bother humans all that much, that's pretty much only because humans can commit diablerie or be victims of it, but if we could it would be a BIG FUCKING DEAL!!! You guys are pretty much strapping a bunch of nukes to your asses every time you do it and if any sane, reasonably powerful vampire were to find out, you'd either all be dead or terminally black-mailed for the rest of your unlives... Stu Venable...

Yes, If I was an enemy of the Mote of Sins I would send a Justicar who can read their minds for not following the path of Humanity and not follow the sixth tradition. This would turn the players as blood hunted Anarchs with or without the island. The Sixth Tradition:Destruction Thou art forbidden to destroy another of thy kind.
The right of destruction belongeth only to thine Elder. Only the Eldest among thee shall call the Blood Hunt. Justicar: These are the judges appointed by the Inner Circle to be the Camarilla’s eyes, hands and, if necessary, fists. It is the Justicars who decide the punishment for those who have violated the Traditions on a widespread level. A Justicar serves for 13 years, and her actions may be challenged only by another Justicar.

Regarding Diablerie and Asa: she doesn't truly understand beyond the fact that doing it feels good and brings satisfaction. (Same thing that happened with eating werewolves.) She's gotten little to no instruction in how to behave beyond being bossed to do one thing or another. But this is also part of why I've chosen to have her not lose animal features after she frenzies. She's on a downward spiral and that's something I absolutely intend to play with. She's spending more and more time in wolf form so she can avoid doing the human things.

Never put yourself in a position where you are open to public scrutiny if you don't have a thick skin. Also, it's just a game dude, always keep that in perspective. It's not like anyone here is calling them out as terrible people or anything like that. And keep in mind, if you have any interest in growing an audience the worse that can happen to you is no one talking about you or showing any interest. I can only speak for myself but do you really think I'd waste all that time to look things up and post page numbers and all that if I didn't give a shit? Have you noticed how I don't post on the other AP sub-forums? That's because I'm not interested in them (except for Savage Rifts but I don't know Savage Worlds of Rifts so I can't really comment), I gave them all a shot but they didn't grip me, so I stopped watching them. The only reason why I know how often they fuck up in the V20 game is because I watch each and every episode. That's because I like that one, so I care about helping to make it as good as possible. Perspective matters a lot, what you see as criticism and presumably negativity, is actually dedicated interest and a desire for the game/show to continue and to continue to improve over time.

See, for many years I lived and breathed L5R. When the group started playing I would mention a few things that would help them out. But I was never like "You screwed this up again folks" or anything like that. I'm reading Masks right now and I see that they make mistakes sometimes but I don't say anything. But when an episode thread is 75% critiques that's just... rude.

Before my post there were 10 posts. 8 were "this is what you're doing wrong" and 1 was a player defending against those posts. That's all I'm saying. Alright, I got some time to kill so let's have some fun with this. Before your first post:Starteller Post 1: A minor correction about vampire senses along with a suggestion on how to approach it in the rules. Starteller Post 2: Again a minor correction about initiative, along with a suggestion to keep track of combat stats to facilitate their use in the future. Starteller Post 3: A rather amusing and original suggestion on how to use a Discipline in a certain situation. No corrections here. Starteller Post 4: A mention of a houserule that he uses in his home games. No corrections here either. Starteller Post 5: A mistaken tracking correction about Samantha not tracking her Humanity loss (for the record she did) along with a mention of how she might be low enough now to suffer penalties as a result. He also mentioned how the game seems to be heading in a more Sabbat/Anarchs direction than Camarilla, but then again he also said he found that interesting. So does that still count as criticism? Starteller Post 6: I believe Starteller is wrong about this correction, in that I think she already keeps track of the blood cost of "Dirt Nap." Though the following example of Discipline and combat info tracking can be useful. RudeAlert Post 1 (7 total): MY WALL OF TEXT!!!! Two minor corrections followed by a lengthier diatribe about the effects of Diablerie and Humanity loss in the game. You can't deny that they've been pretty cavalier about Diablerie, murder, and Humanity loss overall. Humanity is a BIG part of the game's theme and presumed play-style. Now I could have just said: "YOU'RE WRONG FUCK YOU!!!" but I preferred a more detailed approach, with helpful page references even (I know how massive and poorly organized the book is). Starteller Post 7 (8 total): More or less corroborating my post along with further details about Justicars and vampire rules. StrangeLikeThat (Mac) Post 1 (8 total): I wouldn't say she was "defending" against anything, rather pointing out her character's position on the matter of Diablerie and Humanity, which I totally agree with, Asa has no clue so she's doing what feels right or good in the moment and that's totally fine. If I had had a problem with her reply I wouldn't have given it a "Like." In total, Starteller had 7 posts, two of which didn't even contain any corrections at all, but just suggestions based on his own approach or house-rules. Two others had pretty quick and minor corrections. However, even the ones that were more correction-heavy also came with suggestions on how to facilitate things in the future. As for my post, well like I said above, since it's related to some pretty important parts of the game/setting I didn't want to just gloss over it and dumb it down to a meaningless "YOU'RE WRONG!" I wanted to delve deeper into it to ideally outline the situation as clearly as possible, hence all the page references that I so rudely provided. Honestly, if Starteller had simply put all his points in a single post, that whole thing would have looked a whole lot less intimidating, but I suspect he did what I've also done in the past and just post separate comments as they came, presumably while watching the episode. In short SirGuido no one can control how you choose to see things but you. If you want to see this in the most negative light possible, have at it, there's nothing I can do to change that (regarding the length of this post, like I said, I had time to kill). I love this AP and I won't stop trying to help make it as good as it can be. I'm also not overly worried about the players or GM being too thin-skinned to not be able to take critiques, suggestions, and yes even criticism, in the spirit in which it was given.

There IS a bloodhunt on childer of Sebastien, and that's what the two who were eaten were. Just FYI. Yes they are pretty hohum about diablerie. We'll have a humanity review before next session.
